Vassilios Lazarou Playing Under Distress

It has been observed that Vassilios Lazarou has been coughing considerably over the last hour or so, even to the point where he was seen coughing up blood.

The tournament directors spoke to him and considered bringing in paramedics, but Lazarou refused as he didn't want to leave the table, determined to see this one right through until the end!

Ivey on Life Support

Phil Ivey was just forced to fold on fifth street after betting both third and foutth streets against Vassilios Lazarou.

Phil Ivey Back in the Game

Phil Ivey doubled up in a hand against David Levi when Ivey's three queens were good enough to get him back up to 60,000. The very next hand, Ivey was able to double yet again to make his way up to 120,000 in chips.

Phil is continuing to show why he is one of the most feared stud players in the world.

Erik Seidel on Fire!!

Fu Wong and Erik Seidel tangled on a hand just now. Wong bet out at Seidel on every street until sixth. On sixth street, Seidel bet out showing {5-Spades} {8-Spades} {Q-Clubs} {A-Spades} and Wong called showing {10-Diamonds} {4-Clubs} {4-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts} . On the river, Seidel bet out again and Wong called. Seidel showed ({Q-Spades} {9-Clubs} {7-Spades}) for the queen-high flush. Wong mucked.

Since being on the cusp of elimination at the bubble, Erik Seidel has roared back to 226,000 in chips.

Ly Crippled

Minh Ly and David Oppenheim were involved in a big pot with plenty of action on all streets. Oppenheim was the aggressor until the river when he checked, with Ly calling all the way and checking behind on the river.

Oppenheim showed ({K-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}) {K-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{8-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} for just a pair of kings with Ly giving a sigh before tapping the table and mucking his hand. Ly is in deep trouble now with only 20,000.

Negreanu Takes a Hit

With a board of {9-Clubs} {4-Clubs} {9-Spades} {A-Hearts} , Daniel Negreanu bet out on seventh street into the {6-Hearts} {A-Spades} {3-Clubs} {3-Diamonds} board of Jim Paluszek. Paluszek called and flipped over ({6-Spades} {6-Diamonds} X) for sixes full. Negreanu flipped over ({9-Hearts} {3-Hearts} {Q-Spades} ) for three nines.

After the hand Negreanu is down to 72,000 and Paluszek is up to 320,000.

Ivey Decimated

Phil Ivey has been crippled in a pot with Daniel Negreanu.

Negreanu held ({K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}) {5-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{3-Spades}{A-Clubs} ({A-Diamonds}) for aces and kings which were too good for Ivey's ({Q-Spades}{10-Clubs}) {Q-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{8-Spades} ({J-Hearts}) for queens and eights.

After the hand Negreanu sits with 150,000 while Ivey is decimated and only has 15,000 chips to work with. A Seidel-like comeback is now required!

Director on the Set

The floorman running tonight's Stud World Championship must feel like he is directing an epic movie. He has a bar stool style chair with a sign of "Movie Director" on the back of it. It is set right between two tables off to the side of our two remaining tables, giving him a nice view of the action. "Action!"
