Day 2 Concludes

It was an exciting day of poker here in the Amazon Room as our field of 80 was reduced to a final table of eight world class players.

We lost some big names today including Doyle Brunson, Scotty Nguyen, Greg Raymer and defending champion Chris Reslock. Chad Brown fell just short of the money, with Daniel Negreanu and Phil Ivey busting out in the early hours of the morning within sight of another WSOP final table berth.

David Oppenheim held the chip lead for most of the day and is expected to carry that lead into the final table when the chips are bagged and sealed. He won't have it easy, with Alexander Kostritsyn, Fu Wong, and Minh Ly lurking close behind, not to forget Erik Seidel who will be out to capture another bracelet after coming back from the dead after being the short stack on the bubble.

We'll be back at 3 p.m. PDT tomorrow for the conclusion of this Championship event and we look forward to your company once again.
