Credit Where Credit is Due

Perhaps Ted Forrest's recent run can be attributed more to his girlfriend than to himself. Since just about the time he began his push towards the top, Forrest has been munching on a plate of noodles with chili sauce in between hands.

We asked him where he got them. "My girlfriend brought them to me," he said. "I'm a lucky guy."

The noodles look delicious, incidentally.

Pechac Keeps it Up

"Big" Jim Pechac is involved with Ted Forrest on the flop of {5-Diamonds} {7-Hearts} {6-Diamonds}. Pechac makes a bet, and Forrest makes the call.

The turn card is the {K-Spades}. Again, Pechac bets, and Forrest calls.

Fifth street is the {6-Hearts}. Pechac leads again, this time betting enough to put himself all in. Forrest puts in the call, and Pechac turns over {A-Spades} {2-Diamonds} {5-Hearts} {9-Diamonds}, scooping up the pot and knocking Forrest down a peg.

Pechac, who began the day with just 2,000 measly chips, now sits tall at 250,000.

Scott Clements Eliminated in 7th Place ($36,232)

From under the gun, Scott Clements opens it up with a raise. Ted Forrest reraises, and Andrew Brown makes the call from the big blind. When it gets back to Clements, he jams it once more, this time putting himself all in. Both of his opponents make the call.

The board runs out {4-Clubs} {J-Clubs} {5-Hearts} {Q-Clubs} {5-Diamonds}, and Clements mucks his cards, signaling the end of his run. The winning hand is shown down by Andrew Brown: {Q-Diamonds} {A-Hearts} {K-Spades} {5-Spades}.

Scott Clements is our first elimination after dinner, and he will collect $36,232 in cold hard cash for his seventh-place finish.

Ralph Perry Elminated in 6th Place ($46,297)

Nursing the short stack for a while now, Ralph Perry moved all in preflop for his last 15,000 chips. He got calls from Andrew Brown, Soheil Shamseddin, and Ted Forrest.

The flop brought {7-Clubs} {K-Hearts} {9-Hearts}. Brown led out, and Shamseddin was the lone caller.

The turn was the {4-Clubs}. Brown kept the heat on with another bet, and Shamseddin obliged him with the call.

The river was the {J-Clubs}. Same action: bet, call.

With the action complete, Andrew Brown flipped over the winner: {7-Spades} {7-Hearts} {3-Clubs} {2-Clubs}, taking down the pot with his set of sevens.

Ralph Perry, meanwhile, is sent out of here in sixth place, earning $46,297 for his efforts over the past three days.

Walking in Memphis

With the flurry of action we've had at this final table, it is noteworthy that the last three hands have all resulted in walks to the big blind.

Leave it to Ted to break up the trend though. As we write this, Forrest raises first in from the small blind, pushing out Kia Hooshmand and winning his second small pot in a row.

Forrest Pushes Hooshmand to the Brink

Ted Forrest raises first in from the cutoff seat, and Kia Hooshmand makes the call from the button.

The flop brings {4-Spades} {9-Spades} {A-Clubs}. Forrest checks, Hooshmand bets, and Forrest calls.

The turn card is the {10-Spades}. Forrest leads out this time with a bet, and Hooshmand flat-calls.

The river is the {A-Hearts}. Forrest passes this time, and Hooshmand seizes the opportunity to make one more bet. Forrest slams a stack of chips down onto his cards, sighing and shaking his head. Finally, after a moment, he puts the call into the pot.

"You got me," says Hooshmand, as he readies his cards for the muck. Forrest turns over {A-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs} {2-Spades} {7-Spades}, and drags in a nice pot, moving himself up to 860,000. Hooshmand is in rough shape, sitting with just 110,000 left.
