Mizzi Draws First Blood

Sorel Mizzi raises first in to 2,400. Chip leader Stephen McKinney makes the call from the big blind.

The flop comes out {J-Clubs} {K-Diamonds} {6-Hearts}. It's passed to Mizzi, and he makes a bet of 3,800. McKinney gets the urge, and he comes over the top with a raise to 9,000. Mizzi reraises all in and McKinney reluctantly lets it go, relinquishing the chip lead as well.

Bleeding Chips

Under the gun, Kenneth Fitzgerald raises to 2,200, and Stephen McKinney is the lone caller from middle position.

The dealer spreads out the flop: {2-Hearts} {J-Diamonds} {10-Clubs}. Fitzgerald leads out with a continuation bet of 4,000. McKinnney comes back with a raise to 21,000, and Fitzgerald moves all in for 44,000. McKinney calls, showing {K-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs}, for a straight draw and two overcards. Fitzgerald is ahead with top pair, {Q-Hearts} {J-Hearts}, looking to double up and stay alive.

The turn and river are safe for the at-risk player: {10-Diamonds}, {7-Hearts}. Fitzgerald drags in a nice pot and chips all the way up to 85,000.

His opponent, Stephen McKinney, started the day with the chip lead at 92,500, He is going in the wrong direction early, though, and has tumbled all the way down to 34,000 in just a few minutes of play.

Joe Hachem Takes One Out

In preflop action, an opponent raised to 2,400. Joe Hachem reraised to 8,400 and his opponent called.

The flop comes {7-Clubs} {3-Clubs} {2-Spades}. Hachem's opponent moved all in and Hachem made the call. His opponent showed pocket tens and Hachem showed {A-Clubs} {K-Clubs}.

The turn came the {J-Spades} and the river landed a {K-Diamonds} to give Hachem the hand.

Chainsaw!

Opening up from the button, Paul Taylor comes in raising to 2,200. Allen "Chainsaw" Kessler is in the small blind, and he pushes all in for 7,600, which Taylor calls down. The hands are turned over:

Taylor: {6-Spades} {6-Hearts}
Kessler: {A-Spades} {10-Spades}

The board finds Kessler when it runs out {9-Spades} {2-Diamonds} {10-Clubs} {5-Spades} {A-Diamonds}, making him two pair and doubling him up to 16,000.

McEuen Doubles Gibralter

Hold'em -

Before the flop, action folded to Jeff Gibralter on the button. He decided it was his time to make a move and shoved all in. The small blind folded and then Jesse McEuen in the big blind made the call.

Gibralter: {Q-Spades} {9-Spades}
McEuen: {6-Hearts} {6-Clubs}

The flop came {Q-Clubs} {3-Clubs} {3-Spades} and gave Gibralter the lead. The turn came the {2-Diamonds} and the river the {4-Hearts}. McEuen couldn't pull back the win and Gibralter doubled up to 52,000.
