Misread from Pescatori

pieces of eight
pieces of eight
Max Pescatori led out on the turn of a {6-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{J-Spades} board and Terry Boyd made the call. When the river came the {2-Clubs}, Pescatori's check was quickly followed by a bet of 12,000.

"I think you have K-Q," claimed Pescatori as he made the call.

However, his judgment was wayward on this occasion, Boyd showing {Q-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} for top pair. Pescatori, meanwhile, folded in disgust and is now short-stacked with just 29,500.

Rusnak New Chip Leader

Frank Rusnak has doubled up through Ed Fernandez to a chip-leading 290,000.

Fernandez bet out 15,000 on the {3-Hearts} {4-Diamonds} {8-Hearts} flop, and Rusnak flat-called. Fernandez bet another 25,000 on the {6-Hearts} turn, and then called when Rusnak raised all in for 128,000.

Fernandez: {2-Diamonds} {8-Spades}
Rusnak: {A-Hearts} {8-Diamonds}

River: a very dramatic {2-Hearts}

While Rusnak is our new chip leader, Fernandez drops down to 68,000.

All In for a Song

Kevin Song has doubled up to 95,000 through John Chou, who has now dropped down to 95,000.

With 25,000 already in the pot on the {5-Hearts} {9-Diamonds} {5-Clubs} flop, Song stuck his last 32,000 in with {5-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds}, Chou just holding {A-Clubs} {9-Clubs}, and went on to make a full house on the {10-Spades} turn and {10-Clubs} river.

Honig onto a Shorr Thing

Shorr-t of chips
Shorr-t of chips
Jonathan Honig has doubled up just moments after returning from the break. Calling all in preflop with {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}, he was delighted to see Shannon Shorr flip {A-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}, and even more elated when the board came a clinical {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{4-Hearts} to leave Shorr drawing dead on the flop.

Shorr -- 42,000
Honig -- 105,000

Hawrilenko Eliminated

Zachary Clark raised to 8,000 utg, and to his immediate left, Matt Hawrilenko made it 25,000. Michael Skomac rather unexpectedly went all in on the button and Clark folded, but Hawrilenko called all in.

Hawrilenko: {A-Spades} {K-Hearts}
Skomac: {J-Diamonds} {J-Hearts}

Board: {7-Spades} {5-Spades} {9-Diamonds} {10-Hearts} {8-Diamonds} which only improved things for Skomac.

Hawrilenko is therefore OUT.

No Fish for Pescatori

Off I go
Off I go
Max Pescatori no longer has any chance of winning his second bracelet in this particular event, as he is OUT.

All in on the flop with {Q-Spades} {J-Diamonds}, he needed a minor miracle against Brendan Keenan's {A-Spades} {J-Clubs}, which didn't come.

Board: {K-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds} {J-Hearts} {8-Clubs} {10-Hearts}

Keenan is now our new chip leader with an enormous 350,000.
