Seat 9: Ted Forrest (Las Vegas, Nevada) -- 757,000

Seat 9 - Ted Forrest
Seat 9 - Ted Forrest
Like Kloeckner, West, and Fernandez, today also marks Ted Forrest’s second final table of this year’s WSOP. Forrest finished second to Andrew Brown in Event No. 16, the $2,000 Omaha Hi-Low Split-8 event. And like Flack, Forrest has five WSOP bracelets and one WPT title. Forrest’s WSOP bracelets have come in Razz, Stud (twice), Omaha hi-low split-8, and hold’em. Forrest’s list of accomplishments goes on and on, and includes victories in the 2006 NBC Heads-Up Poker Championship as well as a deep run in last fall’s PLO event at the WSOPE. Forrest has well over $5 million in lifetime tourney winnings.

Players Are Seated

The players are seated and their names and bios are being announced to the crowd. When it came to Tim West being introduced our announcer mistakenly said he was twenty years old. I hope the Feds weren't listening! He's actually 22 years old.

Cautious Start

The first three hands:

1. After some preflop betting, the flop came {J-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{K-Diamonds}, and Kyle Kloeckner bet out, claiming the pot.

2. Michael Guzzardi bet 45,000 from the cutoff and took the blinds.

3. Layne Flack raised to 45,000 from the hijack seat and took the blinds.

Flack Takes One

Jacobo Fernandez raised to 48,000 from middle position, Layne Flack and Michael Guzzardi called behind him, and everyone else folded.

The flop came {9-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}. Fernandez checked, Flack bet 120,000, and Guzzardi folded. Fernandez rechecked his cards, then folded, giving Flack the pot.

Vizza Takes a Few from Kloeckner

Frank Vizza limped from the hijack seat, Daniel Makowsky folded in the small blind, and Kyle Kloeckner checked his option from the big blind.

The flop came {K-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{5-Hearts}. Kloeckner checked, Vizza bet 35,000, and Kloeckner called. The turn was the {A-Diamonds}. Kloeckner again checked, Vizza bet 100,000. Kloeckner grinned, looking over at Vizza, then folded.

Fernandez Finagles Five-Way Flop

Layne Flack limped, Ted Forrest raised to 32,000, Dario Alioto called, Kyle Kloeckner called from the small blind, Jacobo Fernandez called from the big blind, and Flack called as well. Five to the flop.

The flop came single-suited -- {5-Spades}{7-Spades}{K-Spades}. It checked to Forrest who bet out 150,000 (almost the size of the pot). It folded to Fernandez who took his time deliberating what to do. He finally announced he was reraising all in for 269,000 total. Flack folded and the action was back on Forrest.

Forrest quickly folded, and Fernandez took the pot. That bumped Fernandez up to 578,000, and Forrest down to 567,000.

Another Small One for Vizza

Ted Forrest limped from UTG+1, then Frank Vizza raised to 72,000. Layne Flack called the raise and it folded back around to Forrest who let it go.

The flop came {6-Spades}{3-Hearts}{5-Hearts}. Flack quickly checked, and Vizza checked behind. The turn was the {A-Clubs}. Flack checked, Vizza bet 125,000, and Flack folded.
