The King is Dead, Long Live the King

Freddy Deeb
Freddy Deeb
Omaha-8:

Freddy Deeb won this event last year but his quest to repeat as champion just came to an end. He hit top two pair on the {A-Spades} {Q-Hearts} {9-Hearts} flop but Steve Zolotow flopped a set with {A-Clubs} {A-Diamonds} {5-Hearts} {3-Spades} and that was enough to take the pot and send Freddy out of the tournament.

Ting and Bueno Split

Muy Bueno!
Muy Bueno!
Omaha-8:

Patrick Bueno limped in from UTG, Robert Williamson III limped behind, Edwin Ting limped on the button, Tad Jurgens called from the small blind and Greg Mascio checked his option. The flop was {Q-Spades} {J-Clubs} {6-Clubs}. Jurgens checked, Mascio checked, Bueno bet, Williamson folded, Ting called and both of the blinds gave it up. The turn was the {8-Clubs}. Bueno bet out, Ting raised and Bueno called. The river was the {5-Hearts}. Bueno fired again and Ting called.

Bueno turned over {A-Clubs} {K-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs} {8-Diamonds} and won the high with a flush. Ting got the low with 8-6-5-3-A.

Mike Matusow Suffers a Big Hit

Stud-8:

Mike Matusow had kings up and a king-high flush draw going into the river against Lyle Berman. But Berman made aces and sevens on the river, and when Matusow's hand didn't improve Berman took down the 130,000, pushing his stack up to 320,000. Losing that hand left Matusow with just 28,000.
