It only took 20 minutes of heads-up play for Jeff Carris to claim the shootout title and the WSOP bracelet.
When Jason Somerville open shoved from the small blind, Carris took just a few seconds before making the call.

When the board ran out , Carris' king high made him the top gun of the $1,500 No-Limit Hold 'em Shootout. Somerville goes in second place with $194,004.
Jeffrey Carris has just polished off Jason Somerville in a quick heads-up match to complete a dominating run through this field.
Play began with an even 1,000 runners three days ago, duking it out in a series of single-table contests. At the end of three rounds, Carris is the only man left standing, running through his three tables in fine fashion to complete the sweep. The play today was vicious and the battle was hard fought with no shortage of action on the felt. Carris was by no means the betting favorite at this final table today either, with Jason Somerville and Joe Cutler at the head of the class. Still, Carris would prove his mettle, essentially dominating the table from start to finish with very few slip-ups. Credit has to be given to his cheering section as well, a group of more than 25 fans who were amazingly vocal in support of their guy for the entire final table.
For his big win, Jeffrey Carris will take home $313,673 and the all-important shiny gold bracelet. Congratulations to Jeff Carris, Event #22 Champion!
