Jimmie Fricked

Tournament is now Frick-less
Tournament is now Frick-less
Oh dear, an unfortunate exit for Jimmy Fricke. There was an early position raise from Michel Van Loon to 2,400 and it folded right around to Fricke in the small blind, who shoved for 15,000. A call, a showdown, an outdraw, and Fricke headed for the door.

Fricke: {K-Spades} {K-Diamonds}
Van Loon: {J-Clubs} {J-Spades}

Board: {J-Hearts} {3-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds} {2-Clubs} {A-Clubs}

Great Scott

"Right, that's it, I've had my luck for the day," announced Kara Scott, now up to 88,000.

It appears that a gentleman raised in early position and short stack Justin Bonomo went over the top. Scott looked down at {A-?} {Q-?} and reraised to isolate, but the original raiser liked his hand and either reraised or called all in -- either way the cards were on their backs preflop and it wasn't looking good for Kara.

Bonomo: pocket kings
Original raiser: pocket jacks

...But Ms Scott proceeded to make a four card flush to knock out both players. Yikes.

Dennis Phillips was spotted at the rail by our keen-eyed field reporter -- it turns out he smacked pocket kings into pocket aces, and that was the end of that.

Persaud Nik'd

Nik Persaud was down to 4,000 and declaring that he was going to let himself ante away a little while ago. "I'm really too hungover to play," he sighed. And indeed, that was the last anyone saw of him.

Hellmuth's Had His Phil

His opponent took the bottle of water too.
His opponent took the bottle of water too.
After hours of just hanging on, Phil Hellmuth is finally bust.

He somehow managed to get it in with {9-Hearts} {7-Diamonds} against an opponent's pocket {8-Clubs} {8-Diamonds}. The opponent made quads, and Hellmuth walked away shaking his head.
