Chang Doubles

Mehdi Alaei opened to 42,000 and Jeff Chang made the call from the big blind.

The flop fell down {A-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{9-Clubs} and Chang checked to Alaei, who made it 100,000 to go. With the action back on Chang, he pushed for his remaining 227,000 with Alaei making the call.

Chang: {Q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}
Alaei: {4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}

With Chang in great shape to double up, he would see the safe {5-Spades} fall on the turn followed by the {8-Hearts} on the river.

As Alaei looked down at his remaining 270,000 in chips, Chang raked in the pot to move to 650,000 in chips.

Madsen Doubles

Jeff Chang limped the button as Mikkel Madsen checked his option in the big blind.

The flop fell down {10-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} and Madsen checked to Chang, who opted to fire with a 25,000 bet. With the action back on Madsen, he bumped it to 100,000 and Chang made the call.

The turn landed the {3-Clubs} and Madsen pushed for his remaining 205,000. Chang called.

Madsen: {K-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Chang: {A-Spades}{7-Diamonds}

Madsen needed to fade just an ace, and he would see the {5-Spades} dealt on the river to double through to 670,000 while Chang slips to 225,000 in chips.

Brattole Bounces Back with Kings

Joey Brattole opened to 40,000 from under the gun with Avi Braz making the call on the button.

The flop fell down {4-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} and a bet of 75,000 followed from Brattole. Braz sat in the tank for over three minutes befor deciding to reraise and put Brattole all in for his remaining 88,000. Brattole obliged and the cards were tabled.

Brattole: {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}
Braz: {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

The turn changed little when the {J-Spades} dropped, and when it was followed by the {3-Hearts} on the river, Brattole doubled through to 480,000 and Braz slips to 310,000.

Shoaib Makani eliminated in 23rd place
Shoaib Makini opened the pot to 45,000 and Mike Eise pushed all in from the small blind.

With only 100,000 behind, Makini made the call for his tournament life tabling {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades} to be in a race against Eise's {A-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}.

The flop of {4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{J-Spades} seemed safe for Makini, but the {A-Spades} landed on the turn. Makini needed to hit one of the two remaining eights in the deck to stay alive, and would be forced to head to the rail when the {Q-Clubs} landed on the river.

With Makini picking up a handy $18,688 for his efforts, Eise climbs to 1,060,000 in chips.

Mike Zulker opened from middle position to 44,00 and Mehdi Alaei pushed all in for 200,000 out of the small blind.

Drew Daniels sat in the tank for over four minutes before angrily folding his hand. Zulker asked for a count and said, "I think you may have two tens sir," and made the call.

Zulker: {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs}
Alaei: {A-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}

The board would fall {4-Clubs}{10-Spades}{3-Hearts}{9-Spades}{10-Diamonds} to see Alaei hit the rail as Zulker climbs to 780,000.

As for the father and son record that the Brunson's hold . . . it seems safe for now!

Joe Simmons opened to 55,000 from middle position before Jim Coyle pushed his last 245,000 into the pot.

With the action on Mike Eise in the small blind, he made the call, which prompted a fold from Simmons.

Coyle: {8-Hearts}{8-Spades}
Eise: {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}

The flop of {4-Spades}{A-Spades}{K-Clubs} would see Eise surge into the lead, and when the turn and river fell the {10-Spades} and {5-Hearts}, Coyle was the next player to fall.

With that pot, Eise climbs to over 1,320,000 in chips - four times what he started the day with just over an hour ago.

Louie Cracked, Then Doubles

Aces CRACKED!
Aces CRACKED!
Fred Louie just lived one of poker's nightmares - getting your aces cracked!

Louie called the all in of Jake Solis holding {A-Clubs}{A-Spades} to be well ahead of Solis' {K-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}.

But, when the board ran out {J-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}, Solis doubled through to 500,000 and Solis slipped to below 100,000.

On the following hand, he managed to find a double holding {A-Spades}{8-Diamonds} against Mickey Neuberger's {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} to see him back over the 200,000 mark.
