Cards Are in the Air

The remaining 13 players have returned to their seats for level 22. After this hour of play, the staff will be taking all of the yellow T1,000 chips off the table.

Geary and Rich Chop

Jim Geary

From the cutoff seat, Jim Geary raised before Richard Toth reraised from the button. Jordan Rich called out of the small blind and Sebastian Ruthenberg folded from the big blind before Geary made the call.

The flop came down {A-Hearts} {7-Diamonds} {6-Hearts} and Rich led out. Geary raised and Toth went into the tank. After a minute or so of thinking, Toth folded and Rich called.

The turn and river both checked after it came the {10-Spades}, then the {9-Spades}.

Rich tabled {A-Clubs} {J-Spades} {4-Diamonds} {2-Spades} and Geary showed {A-Diamonds} {J-Hearts} {6-Clubs} {4-Hearts}. Geary took the high half with aces and sixes while Rich took the low.

Micah Brooks Eliminated 13th ($12,669)

Micah Brooks - 13th Place
Micah Brooks - 13th Place
Thang Luu kept up his aggressive play, raising from under-the-gun, getting called by Lee Mougous and Micah Brooks, who was all in.

Luu and Mougous checked down the board, which came {8-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}. Brooks announced a straight, but his hand was no good against Luu's {J-Clubs}{9-Clubs}, which gave him the flush and the scoop.

Brooks earned $12,669 for his play.

Luu Bests Smith

Ming "Joy" Reslock raised from middle position and Ed Smith called from the small blind as did Thang Luu from the big blind. The flop came down {Q-Spades} {9-Diamonds} {3-Clubs} and Smith checked. Luu bet, Reslock folded, and then Smith raised. Luu called.

The turn brought the {5-Hearts} and Smith fired. Luu called. The river was the {J-Spades} and Smith led again. Luu raised and then Smith called.

Smith's hand was mucked after Luu revealed {10-Hearts} {10-Clubs} {9-Hearts} {8-Diamonds} for the winning hand.

Pascal Leyo Hangs On

Three players called Sebastian Ruthenberg's preflop raise and saw a flop of {2-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{6-Hearts}. Action checked to Freddy Deeb on the button and his bet was called in two spots. Ruthenberg folded.

Leyo bet the {9-Hearts} on the turn and got called twice. Action checked to Deeb who bet when the {9-Diamonds} appeared on the river. Pascal raised all in and Deeb called to chop the pot with the nut low while Leyo showed {K-Hearts}{7-Hearts} for a flush.

Hearing Break

The players at the two remaining tables have been complaining and arguing with the tournament staff about the loudness of the Tournament of Champions announcements. There are a couple speakers located right above where the tables are located and the volume is cranked all the way up it seems.

After about five minutes of complaining, the tournament director has decided to pause the clock for the players until the announcements are over. Be back shortly.

Pascal Leyo is Playing Lots of Pots

Pascal Leyo has played every hand but one since we've returned from our unscheduled break. Leyo, who is sitting on a short stack, has been all in twice - once against Freddy Deeb and once against Sebastian Ruthenberg - and has managed to chop each time.

We're not sure if he's just playing aggressive poker or if he's actively looking to bust, but Leyo is certainly getting plenty of action while we're short handed.

Senovio Ramirez Adds to His Stack

Senovio Ramirez raised preflop and got called by Lee Mougous who then check-called on a flop of {J-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}.

Both players checked the hand down when the {10-Hearts} and {10-Diamonds} came on the turn and river, and Ramirez scooped the pot after showing {A-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{3-Hearts} for two pair.

Ramirez is now sitting on a stack of 110,000
