Scotty Drops One with Trip Eights

The player with the {5-Clubs} had the bring-in, but opted to jut complete the bet right from the get go. Scotty Nguyen raised with the {K-Clubs} up and Rpobert Mizrachi called with the {6-Hearts} up. The other player then called.

Nguyen: (X)(X) / {K-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} / (X)
Mizrachi: (X)(X) / {6-Hearts}{4-Spades}{J-Hearts}{9-Spades} / (X)
Opponent: (X)(X) / {5-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{10-Diamonds} / (X)

Nguyen bet fourth and was called in both spots and then he bet fifth as well. Mizrachi called on fifth before the other player raised. Nguyen and Mizrachi both called. On sixth, Nguyen bet when his board paired with eights and both players called. On seventh, Nguyen bet again, Mizrachi folded and then the other player called.

Nguyen turned up the {A-Clubs}{8-Clubs}-X for trip eights. His opponent had the {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{2-Clubs} in the hole and held trip queens, costing Nguyen the pot and dropping him back to about 28,000 chips.
