Stringham Fades Three Calls

Omaha-8

There were four players to a flop of {8-Hearts}{j-Spades}{7-Diamonds}. Matt Savage opened the action with a bet that Mojgan Stringham raised. George Trigeorgis, Max Pescatori and Savage all made the call.

Action checked to Stringham when the board paired jacks on the turn, {j-Hearts}. She moved all in for 800 and was called by all opponents. They all checked the river, then mucked to Stringham's {a-Hearts} {j-Diamonds} {2-Spades} {10-Diamonds}.

Stringham quadrupled up to about 48,000, and so hand-for-hand play continues.

Seiver Dents Ivey On Bubble

Stud-8

Catching the action on fifth street, Scott Seiver fired out a bet before Phil Ivey raised it up. Seiver made the call before he fired on sixth. Ivey called but then folded to the pressure from Seiver on the river.

Seiver: (X-X) / {5-Spades}{K-Spades}{K-Hearts}{5-Clubs} / (X)
Ivey: (X-X) / {8-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} / (X)

Ivey claimed he had {A-}{3-} in the hole and bricked the river for half of the pot. He slips to just 35,000 as Seiver is now up to 185,000 and our likely chip leader.

Break?

Well, it looks like somebody busted. We're still trying to figure out who it was. In the meantime, the field has been sent on an unscheduled twenty-minute break and a color-up is being performed. When they return, the gray (T100) chips will be gone, a table will be broken, and we'll be down to the last six tables.

Pescatori Busto

Razz

The money bubble has burst and so the short-stack frenzy begins. Max Pescatori is the first to go, making a strong hand in the razz round that wasn't good enough against Dan Heimiller's stronger hand. We weren't able to catch all the cards before the hands were killed, but Pescatori definitely has no more chips and is off to get paid.

Two Pair Take It For Mozdzen

Stud

Dan Heimiller had the action on fourth street and he checked it over to his opponent Clayton Mozdzen who fired a bet. Heimiller made the call before both players checked fifth. On sixth, Heimiller led out with a bet, and then again on the river with Mozdzen looking him up.

Heimiller: (X-X-X) / {Q-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}
Mozdzen: ({4-Hearts}{3-Spades}{10-Hearts}) / {10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{3-Clubs}

Mozdzen showed two pair, tens and treys, as Heimiller said that he only made one pair as his cards hit the muck. Heimiller slips to 157,000 with Mozdzen up to 54,000.

Siegel Pays Off Brown

Stud

Siegel: X-X / {a-Spades} {q-Spades} {8-Clubs} {8-Diamonds} / X
Brown: X-X / {9-Clubs} {6-Clubs} {10-Diamonds} {9-Hearts} / X
Puchkov: X-X / {4-Spades} {2-Clubs} {5-Diamonds} FOLD

Chad Brown was the first player in on third street. He completed and was called by Konstantin Puchkov. Action folded to Jordan Siegel, who raised. Brown and Puchkov both called.

Siegel had the lead on fourth street and fifth street and bet it both times. Brown called both bets; Puchkov folded to the fifth-street bet. On sixth street, Brown paired nines and Siegel paired eights. Brown bet into Siegel and Siegel, with what looked like aces up, was forced to call. He called one last bet on the river (begrudgingly) before Brown turned up {9-Spades} {7-Diamonds} {j-Hearts} for trip nines.

Siegel is down to 108,000. Brown is up to 170,000.

Young's a Little Steamed

Stud

We saw a sizable pot brewing at John Juanda's table. Juanda, with a board of {9-Diamonds} {4-Clubs} {3-Hearts} {j-Diamonds}, was squeezing his river card. Jason Young had already checked his board of {2-Clubs} {7-Hearts} {2-Spades} {10-Diamonds} to Juanda. Juanda squeezed, then bet. Young called, then had some choice words when Juanda showed {9-Hearts} {9-Clubs} {q-Hearts} in the hole for trip nines.

"Seventh street? Nice chase, sir. Man that's so ugly. Chasing with one pair of nines the whole way and catching on seventh." Young flashed a {10-} in the hole for two pair, tens and deuces, before mucking. He's down to 35,000. Juanda is up to 162,000.

It's All Fun and Games in Razz

David Benyamine
David Benyamine

Razz

It's been an interesting couple of minutes of razz for David Benyamine.

Normally players are happy to make quads, but unfortunately that's not the case when playing razz. Benyamine slammed the table in disgust at making {2-}{4-}{5-}{2-}{7-}{2-}{2-} to hand the pot on a platter to Alexandre Luneau.

However a few minutes later Benyamine was back on track as he eliminated the short-stacked David Harth. Benyamine could only make a jack-five but it was enough as Harth's board was full of paint as he ended up with a jack-seven.

Harth is eliminated as Benyamine is back to 85,000.

Corpuz Kaput

Razz

Martin Corpuz has been sent to the rail during razz at the hands of Scott Seiver.

Seiver has been on a giant-killing run and made a ten-low which was enough to better Corpuz who was eliminated. Seiver is now up close to 300,000.
