Scotty Nguyen, Al Barbieri, and Brandon Adams all walked into a bar. We mean Scotty, Al, and Brandon were all involved in big stud-8 hand, and Nguyen was out of money on fourth. Barbieri bet on fifth, and Adams raised. Sugar Bear called all in, and Adams had a chance to score a double knockout. He had to settle for just one, though, as Nguyen made a ten-high flush to take the high. Adams' six-low was good for the other half of the pot. Barbieri held , which couldn't beat anything. He was dispatched in 22nd place.
Nguyen and Adams split Barbieri's chips, moving Scotty up to 85k and Adams to 220k.
Chow bet every street, and Nguyen called down through sixth. He peeked at his final down card and had to fold to one last bet. Having missed his expensive draw, Nguyen left himself with 45,000, less than two big bets.
The courageous run of Scotty Nguyen has come to an end with his elimination in 19th place. Nguyen was all in on third street against Carlos Mortensen with the boards running out as follows:
Nguyen: () / / ()
Mortensen: () / / ()
Mortensen made a seventy-six low and Nguyen bricked out to send the Prince to the rail in 19th place. Mortensen has created one of his famous chip tower structures, so it's rather difficult to count at the moment, but we'll guess around 500,000.
