Event #47: $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em

Day 1b Started

Day 1B Set to Begin

Day 1B of Event #47 $1,000 No Limit Hold'em is set to begin in about a half hour. Yesterday, 1,759 players started the day, but only 257 players survived. They will be joined by those who make it through today on Monday for Day 2 of the tournament and a chance at a WSOP gold bracelet.

Chau Giang, Michael Mizrachi, Tom Dwan, Jerry Yang, Chris Ferguson, Billy Baxter, Dennis Phillips and Bernard Lee were among the notables eliminated yesterday. However, Antonio Esfandiari, Matt Glantz, Lars Bonding, André Akkari, and Scott Montgomery all managed to make it to Day 2. What pros will enter the event today? Even more importantly, who will rise to the top and become a serious contender for the win? Chernykh Moscow finished Day 1A as the chip leader with 75,150 and we're anxious to see if anyone from Day 1B will manage to surpass him.

A new field of players are set to begin Day 1B of the tournament. Join us in about 30 minutes as PokerNews brings you all the hands, chip counts, and action from Day 1B of Event #47.

Sebok Off to a Good Start

Joe Sebok was all in preflop from the big blind with {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades} and was off to the races against the button's {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}.

Sebok was safe on the {3-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{3-Spades} flop and just need to dodge an ace, king or running straight cards. He managed to do so when the {6-Diamonds} came on the turn. The dealer then burned and revealed the river, it was the harmless {4-Spades}.

Sebok doubled on the hand and is already up to 5,800.

Picture I.D. Sir

Teddy "Iceman" Monroe was just seen trying to take his seat. After he handed over his registration card, the dealer promptly asked, "Picture I.D. sir?"

"Picture I.D.?" the Monroe responded somewhat astonished. I guess not everyone knows who the Iceman is.
