Zaki Boat Keeps Him Afloat

We're witnessing more doubles than the Bad Beat Bar now as Justin Zaki emulates the success of fellow short stack David Ventura with a double up of his own. Michael Linn was once again the victim, his open from the cut-off reraised all in on the button by Zaki. Ventura made the call and the hole cards were revealed.

Zaki: {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}
Linn: {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

Board: {8-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{A-Clubs}{Q-Spades}

Linn loses another pot and is down to 1,240,000, whilst Zaki increases his stack two-fold to 500,000.

Spinks Slips

Jonathan Spinks opened from the cutoff for 35,000 and Manuel Cadilhe defended his big blind.

The flop fell down {8-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} and following a Cadilhe check, Spinks fired out 55,000.

Cadilhe made the call before both players checked the {Q-Clubs} on the turn and {7-Spades} on the river to see Cadilhe table his {J-Spades}{8-Hearts} to collect the pot and move to 590,000 as Spinks slips to 680,000.

Clint Decaffeinated

The wonderfully named Clint Coffee raised under the gun to 40,000 and Ronald Chaves flat called from the button, only for Karl Fenton to moved all in from the small blind. Coffee also shoved and Chaves made the fold.

Fenton: {A-Diamonds}{J-Spades}
Coffee: {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}

Board: {4-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{10-Spades}{5-Hearts}

Fenton went off to the rail to be congratulated by a member of the rail, but in doing so, triggered a brief moment of confusion as the dealer began to push the pot the wrong way, but, in the end, the chips ended up in the right place and Fenton doubled through to 575,000. Coffee's stack, however, has been dissected in half; he's now back down to 240,000.

Spinks Struggling

Things are going from bad to worse for Jonathan Spinks who is struggling to win a hand. After being check-raised off a flop by neighbor Ronald Chaves, Spinks raised it up to 35,000 from late position a couple of hands later and was called in the big blind by Taylor Larkin. Both players checked the {J-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} flop, but Spinks folded to a lead of 60,000 on the {2-Spades} turn to leave himself with 450,000.

Clint Coffee Eliminated in 18th Place ($21,765)

Clint Coffee
Clint Coffee

With the action folding around to Clint Coffee on the button, he opted to push all in for a total of 262,000, but was quickly pursued by small blind Joel Bidnick who also announced all-in from the small blind. After the big blind had folded, cards were thrown onto the felt, Bidnick a nose hair in front with {A-Clubs}{9-Clubs} versus {K-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}.

The board was more thrilling than a journey on Space Mountain, a sadistic dealer teasing with a {Q-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} flop, putting Bidnick ahead with a {K-Spades} turn, before delivering a hopes-crushing {10-Spades} on the river.

Bidnick now up to 650,000.
