Yu Stands Firm

Ben Yu was in the big blind for a hand in which Brendan Taylor opened with a pre-flop raise. Yu was the only caller to a jack-high fop, {j-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{4-Spades}. He checked and then raised after Taylor made a continuation bet. Taylor called, then put in his own raise after Yu bet the {7-Clubs} turn. Yu would not be dissuaded; he called. Both players checked the {10-Clubs} river, where Yu's top pair of jacks, {q-Hearts}{j-Clubs}, took down the pot.

Maal Bets, Chan Wins

Sijbrand Maal raised from the cutoff only to have Terrence Chan reraise from the small blind. Michael Schneider called from the big blind and Maal called as well.

The flop came {8-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{5-Clubs} and Chan bet. Maal made the call after Schneider folded and the turn was the {J-Diamonds}. Both players checked to the {9-Clubs} on the river. Chan checked, Maal bet, and Chan made the call.

Maal showed {K-Spades}{J-Hearts} for a pair of jacks but was behind Chan's pair of aces with the {A-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}. Chan took down the pot and added 72,000 to his stack.

Little Gets There on the River

We don't know what Joe McGowan called with on the river but chances are it had Jonathan Little beat on the turn. McGowan raised the button and was called by Little from the big blind. Both players checked a flop of {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}. Little tried to bet the {2-Spades} turn and was quickly called by McGowan. Little fired again on the river {6-Spades} and again McGowan called. Little showed his {a-Spades}{6-Clubs}, which had connected with the river to make two pair, sevens and sixes. McGowan mucked.

Yu No Good

On a flop of {3-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{5-Hearts}, Ben Yu checked and Michael Schneider bet. Yu then raised to 16,000 and Schneider called. Yu bet out on the {4-Hearts} turn and Schneider called.

The river was the {J-Hearts}. Yu bet and Schneider called. Yu turned over {Q-Spades}{Q-Hearts} for a pair of queens but Schneider showed {9-Spades}{9-Hearts} for a flush. Yu dropped around 64,000 on the hand.

Back and Forth

Jonathan Little raised to 16,000 from the cutoff and Brian Tate reraised to 24,000 from the button. The blinds folded and Little made the call.

The flop came {7-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{7-Spades} and Little checked. Tate bet 8,000 and Little check-raised to 16,000. After Tate made the call the turn came the {A-Spades}. Little bet and Tate called. Little then checked the {Q-Spades} on the river and Tate bet. Little mucked and Tate added 68,000 to his stack.

Chan Rivers a Chop

Terrence Chan was out of position against the much shorter-stacked Brendan Taylor. Taylor bet every street of a {4-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} board. Chan checked and called each time, then tabled {a-Spades}{2-Hearts} at showdown. He had been behind Taylor's {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} the whole way but rivered a chop. That's how things have been going today for Taylor.
