Vasquez, Clees Out

As Christopher Vasquez was being eliminated on one table, we had another player getting knocked out nearby.

After getting crippled in a big hand versus Ognjen Sekularac, Michael Clees found himself in the small blind facing a button raise from Daniel Hart. Down to just 40,000, Clees called with his {K-Spades}{4-Hearts}, and was hoping to outdraw Hart's pocket treys. But the board came {A-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}, and Clees is out.

Kaufman Out

Michael Kaufman, shoved for about 170,000 chips in early position, and was called by David Peters on the button.

Showdown
Peters: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Kaufman: {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

The board spread {8-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{k-Diamonds} and Kaufman is out of the tournament. Peters is now up to 620,000 chips.

Kitchens Kicking Back

Johnny Kitchens, when he was at the table
Johnny Kitchens, when he was at the table

"How far did you get?" asked a friend of Johnny Kitchens of him just now over on the rail.

"I'm still in!" he replied. "There are my chips!" he pointed, and both laughed.

Kitchens had just received a penalty for exposing his hand out of turn with action pending, and he was standing over on the rail waiting it out when his friend came by.

Kitchens doesn't seem too bothered by the forced break -- he's sitting with a bit over 700,000 at the moment, which puts him in the upper third of the 21 players remaining.

Sekularac Sent Home

Ognjen Sekularac just now pushed all in before the flop for his last 230,000, and Dustin Dorrance-Bowman called him. Sekularac showed {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} and Sekularac {A-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}.

The community cards came {9-Clubs}{2-Spades}{K-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{7-Spades}, and Sekularac is out. Dorrance-Bowman moved up to 920,000 on that one.

Hart Stricken, Dorrance-Bowman on the Rise

On the very next hand after the one in which he eliminated Ognjen Sekularac, Dustin Dorrance-Bowman was again mixing it up.

Daniel Hart had opened with a raise to 33,000, and it folded to Dorrance-Bowman who pushed all in from the small blind.

"Table change, please!" joked Raymond Stuwe in response.

The big blind folded, and Hart made the call for his remaining chips, tabling {Q-Spades}{J-Diamonds} versus Dorrance-Bowman's {A-Spades}{5-Clubs}. The board came {4-Spades}{8-Hearts}{K-Spades}{5-Spades}{10-Spades}, and in two hands Dorrance-Bowman had scored two knockouts.

He's up to 1.13 million now.

Moen Doubles Through Peters

In early position, Espen Moen opened the pot with a 37,000-chip raise. The action folded to the button, and David Peters moved all in. Moen called.

Showdown
Moen: {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}
Peters: {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

The board came out {8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and Moen doubled up, is now up to 510,000 chips. Peters slipped to 470,000.

Bonavida Bounced, 18 Left

Raymond Bonavida opened by raising all in for 165,000 from the cutoff, and it folded to Yu Shen in the big blind who made the call. Cards on their backs...

Shen {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}
Bonavida {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}

"Does he have more than me?" asked Bonavida. A count showed Shen had Bonavida covered by just 13,000. "If I lose I'll have a chip and a chair," said Shen.

The board went {10-Spades}{6-Hearts}{4-Spades}{4-Hearts}{A-Spades}, and Bonavida is out. Shen, meanwhile, has about 350,000 chips and a chair.

That takes us down to 18 players left, so there will be another redraw now for the final two tables.
