Berda on the Up and Up

Tomer Berda raised to 250,000 on the button and Vladimir Kochelaevskiy called from the big blind. The flop came down {7-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}. There was a bet of 350,000 and a call.

Both players checked the {4-Hearts} on the turn and the {6-Diamonds} hit the river. Kochelaevskiy bet 705,000 and Berda made the call. Kochelaevskiy turned over {3-Spades}{4-Spades} for two pair but was behind Berda's {K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} for a flush. Kochelaevskiy is down 5.2 million while Berda jumped to 5.1 million.

Ace on the River

Salvatore Bonavena opened to 265,000 from the cutoff and Tomer Berda three-bet to 600,000 with the button. Bonavena called.

The flop fell {8-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} and Bonavena checked to Berda who fired 500,000. Bonavena called.

Both players checked the {8-Clubs} on the turn and the {a-Clubs} on the river, and Bonavena rolled over {5-Spades}{3-Spades} for a pair of fives. They were no good though because Berda showed {a-Hearts}{4-Spades} for a rivered pair of aces.

Berda chipped up to 4,050,000 chips while Bonavena slipped back down to 1,700,000.

"Andiamo"

Salvatore Bonavena raised to 300,000 from the small blind and Tomer Berda made the call from the big. The flop came {9-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{J-Clubs} and Bonavena wasted little time in moving all in for 1.09 million.

Berda asked for a count and went into the tank for a few mintues. "I don't have much," he said, "Why'd you bet so much?" Berda counted out the chips and pushed them into the pot.

Berda: {10-Spades}{9-Clubs}
Bonavena: {K-Spades}{3-Hearts}

Berda was looking for a nine, ten or queen to take the lead and the {J-Hearts} on the turn took away some outs. Berda needed to hit a nine or queen to eliminate his opponent but it was not meant to be as the {7-Spades} hit the river.

"Andiamo," shouted Bonavena and his supporters as he doubled to 2.85 million.

Bonavena Keeps Sinking

Salvatore Bonavena was our chip leader entering the day, but after a tough couple of levels he is near the bottom of our counts.

Bonavena opened to 265,000 from the cutoff, Tomer Berda called with the button, the blinds released and the dealer flopped {5-Hearts}{6-Spades}{j-Clubs}. Bonavena led for 500,000 and Berda called.

The turn was the {3-Clubs} and Bonavena slowed down, checking to Berda who slid out a tower of green T25,000 chips. The bet was 800,000, and after a moment for thought Bonavena folded his hand.

Bonavena slipped to 1,500,000 chips while Berda jumped up to 4,650,000.

The flop fell {k-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{k-Clubs} and Bonavena checked to Porter who continued for 225,000. Bonavena called.

The turn was the {2-Diamonds} and Bonavena quickly checked. Porter fired a second bullet worth 500,000 and Bonavena thought before folding.

Bonavena is no longer our chip leader after slipping to 2,650,000 chips while Porter is up to 2,800,000.

Berda Flushed With Chips

Vladimir Kochelaevskiy opened to 195,000 from under the gun and Tomer Berda called with the button. The blinds got out of the way, and the flop fell {q-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}. Both players checked.

The turn brought the {10-Hearts} and Kochelaevskiy check-called 375,000 from Berda. Berda again checked after the the {a-Spades} rivered.

"Half a million," Berda said to the dealer as he pushed out stacks of orange T5,000 chips.

Kochelaevskiy made the call, but mucked when Berda flipped over {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}. Berda boosted his stack to 3,100,000 chips while Kochelaevskiy slipped to 2,200,000.
