Rutter Steers to Victory

Stuart Rutter
Stuart Rutter

After a long stretch with no chip movement at all, suddenly an all in explosion. Julien Nuijten raised to 25,000 on the button, and Stuart Rutter made it 70,000. Then Nuijten moved all in, and Rutter called!

The few railers sleeping in their chairs jumped up and rushed the table.

Showdown
Rutter: {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}
Nuijten: {k-Spades}{q-Hearts}

The board ran out {8-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{3-Spades}{j-Spades}{q-Diamonds}, giving both players queens and threes, but Rutter took down the pot with his ace kicker. With that, Rutter locked up the fourth seat at tomorrow's (very soon to be today's) final table.

Estes Getting Shorter

Josh Tieman raised to 25,000, and Danny Estes called. Both players checked the {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} flop. Estes took a 35,000-chip stab at the {q-Hearts} on the turn, and Tieman called. One barrel was all Estes was willing to try, and he went back to checking after the {8-Hearts} on the river. Tieman checked behind and flipped over {a-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}, taking down the smallest pot possible with his strong hand.

Tieman is content with small ball for now. He's in charge with 690,000, and Estes is down to 210,000.

Tieman Winsman

Tieman advances.
Tieman advances.

Danny Estes open shoved with the button and Josh Tieman called having him covered. Estes was in bad shape:

Tieman: {A-Hearts}{9-Spades}
Estes: {A-Spades}{8-Hearts}

Estes immediately stood up and began to put his coat on as the flop fell {A-Clubs}{7-Spades}{3-Hearts}. Both sleeves were on as the {9-Diamonds} came on the turn.

"Six!" Estes yelled.

The river was not a six, rather it was the {Q-Diamonds} and with that Tieman advances to the final table.

Estes shook the dealer's hand, then Tiemans before hitting the rail. Officially, his prize will be $16,607.

Tieman is headed to the final table.

A Bit of Action

Elpayaa means business.
Elpayaa means business.

The action has been slow. For example, this has been one of the bigger hands:

The board read {8-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} and Cary Katz check-called 12,000 from Joe "bigegypt" Elpayaa.

The river brought the {9-Clubs} and again Katz check-called a bet, only this one was 26,000 chips.

Elpayaa opened {J-Spades}{6-Diamonds} for a rivered straight and Katz mucked his hand.

Here are the standings:

Elpayaa: 668,000 chips
Katz: 232,000 chips.

Break Time

We're not sure exactly how long this one will last, as these two are pretty much setting their own schedule at this point.

Here's how the stacks look:

Elpayaa - 625,000
Katz - 275,000

Level: 9

Blinds: 6,000/12,000

Ante: 2,000

Katz Doubles

Cary Katz raised to 30,000, and Joseph Elpayaa wasn't messing around. He moved all in, and Katz snap called. Katz was in great shape with {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} against Elpayaa's {7-}{7-}. The board fell a rather uninteresting {j-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{k-Clubs}. The stacks are reversed now, and the game goes on.

Katz - 620,000
Elpayaa - 280,000

Brief Highlights

Here are the highlights of the past few minutes:

Joe Elpayaa has moved all-in over the top a few Cary Katz raises, but none of these moves has been called.

Katz has been winning small pots without showdowns, but other than that nothing major to report since the double-up.

Here are the current chip counts:

Katz - 540,000 chips
Elpayaa - 360,000 chips
