Whorley Doubles Through Corkins

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 0 ante

We caught up with action with Dajuan Whorley all-in for his last 41,800. Hoyt Corkins, his lone opponent, asked for a count, tanked, but eventually made the call.

Corkins: {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}
Whorley: {Q-Clubs}{J-Spades}

The {2-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} put Whorley in the lead and the {Q-Spades} turn guaranteed Whorley would double up. A meaningless {10-Hearts} fell on the river and Whorley doubled, leaving Corkins with just 6,200.

Racener Turns Double

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 0 ante
John Racener (earlier in the WSOP)
John Racener (earlier in the WSOP)

John Racener has just found a double to 85,000 through Charles Ritchie.

Ritchie opened with a raise only to have Racener three-bet the small blind to 11,000 with Ritchie making the call as the flop fell {J-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}.

Racener saw his last 26,600 enter the pot with Ritchie making the call holding his {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts} to be in the lead against Racener's {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}.

Fortunately for last year's Main Event runner-up, the turn of the {K-Spades}, and river of the {4-Hearts} would see him take the lead to ensure the double.

Kimber's Aces Cracked, Sent to Rail

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 0 ante

We caught up with the action on a flop reading {10-Spades}{9-Spades}{4-Clubs}. Jeff Kimber led out for 8,500 from early position and Brian Rast raised to 21,000. Kimber announced, "Pot," and Rast went all in for 112,200, which was slightly more than Kimber's 102,000. Kimber called.

Kimber: {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}
Rast: {4-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}

The {J-Hearts} turn and {K-Spades} river were no help to Kimber, who was forced to the rail.

With that huge hand, Rast is the new chip leader with 230,000.

Alessio Isaia
Alessio Isaia

John Racener opened to 5,000 only to have Mickey Petersen cold-call from a few seats over before Alessio Isaia three-bet to 20,000.

Racener folded, but Petersen announced a pot bet as Isaia committed his remaining chips calling all in.

Petersen: {K-Hearts}{K-Clubs}
Isaia: {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

The board was spread {K-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} to see Isaia bumped to the rail as Petersen moves to 170,000 in chips.

Petersen Takes Some off Racener

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 0 ante

John Racener raised to 5,500 from the cutoff and was met with a Mickey Petersen re-raise to 13,200 from the button. The blinds got out of the way and Racener called.

Flop: {2-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{2-Spades}

Racener took his time checking and Petersen fired out a 15,600 bet in short order. Racener chipped out a call but then mucked his hand.

Racener has slipped to 65,000 while Petersen has chipped up to approximately 200,000.

Corkins Culled, Robinson Rises

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 0 ante
Hoyt Corkins hits the rail
Hoyt Corkins hits the rail

Dajuan Whorley limped under the gun only to have Benjamin Robinson bump it to 10,000 from the small blind as Hoyt Corkins committed his final 5,000 from the big blind.

Whorley also made the call before calling Robinson's 5,500-chip all in on the {J-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} flop.

Whorley: {K-Clubs}{J-Clubs}
Robinson: {A-Spades}{J-Spades}
Corkins: {Q-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}

With Robinson in the lead, the {3-Clubs} on the turn, followed by the {7-Hearts} on the river would ensure he moved to 49,000 as Corkins hit the rail and Whorley slipped to 64,000 in chips.
