Don't Fold Jacks, Will

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

A level ago, Will Failla said that he folded jacks when Roger Teska was all in against Tristan Clemencon, and Failla would have made quads. He wasn't going anywhere with his {a-Spades}{k-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} this time. He was heads up in position with an opponent who declined to be identified when we asked earlier in the day. Failla said the flop was {q-}{j-}{8-} with one spade, and his mystery opponent check-called a bet. The {7-Spades} on the turn added the nut-flush draw to Failla's middle set, and his opponent again check-called. The river was the fourth jack, and Failla's adversary kindly bet into his quads. Failla raised and only had to say thank you when his opponent put him all in and was very unhappy to see that his flopped top set and rivered queens full was no good . The Thrill is up to 440,000, but no beef jerky for quad jacks today.

Failla's opponent was fairly short after that and busted to Ludovic Lacay a few hands later.
