Alex Smith - Eliminated in 18th Place ($23,220)

Just before players redrew seats to form the final two tables, a big hand occured that saw the end of Alex Smith's day.

Smith got all his chips in preflop holding the {10-Hearts}{10-Spades} but was behind to Sebastian Winkler's {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}. The board of {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{9-Clubs} was of no help to Smith and he was eliminated in 18th place.

Players have just taken their new seats at the final two tables and we will have the table draw and updated chip counts for you shortly.

Simon Charette started the action by opening for 35,000 and Athanasios Polychronopoulos popped it to 78,000 from the cutoff. Action folded to Ashton Berner in the small blind and he moved all in for just under 200,000.

Sebastian Winkler was in the big blind and gave a good long thought about his action. He took a long sip of his coffee and folded his hand. Charette folded and Polychronopoulos called Berner's all in.

Showdown
Berner: {K-Clubs} {K-Hearts}
Polychronopoulos: {A-Clubs} {A-Diamonds}

The board ran {5-Diamonds} {A-Spades} {6-Diamonds} {7-Clubs} {6-Spades} and Polychronopoulos made a full house and sent Berner to the rail.

Winkler Gets Hookwinked

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Athanasios Polychronopoulos raised to 33,000 from early position and action folded to Sebastian Winkler in in the cutoff who re-raised to 85,000. Polychronopoulos called and they saw the flop come {q-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{3-Clubs}. Both players checked and the turn brought the {6-Hearts}. Polychronopoulos bet out 75,000 and Winkler raised to 175,000 which Polychronopoulos called. The river was the {8-Diamonds} and Polychronopoulos bet out 150,000 leaving himself only around 350,000 behind.

Winkler went into the tank. He cut out chips that made it appear he was going to raise but sat for a number of minutes debating what to do. He eventually decided to fold and Polychronopoulos proudly flipped over the {a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for ace high. Winkler groaned and admitted he had folded ace-king.

The large pot was shipped over to Polychronopoulos as he sat with a huge grin on his face.

Battle of the Pocket Pairs

Brandon Becker raised to 45,000 from late position and was called only by Corey Burbick from the hijack. The flop came {q-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}, and both players opted to check. The {4-Hearts} fell on the turn and Becker check-called a bet of 82,000 from Burbick. When the {a-Clubs} hit on the river both players decided to check again.

Becker flipped over his {10-Spades}{10-Hearts} but then Burbick revealed his {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs} and scooped up the pot.
