Racener Runs Into a Wall

We caught up with the action on a {2-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{Q-Clubs} board, where a player in early position led out for 375 after Racener checked from the small blind. Racener then check-raised to 1,025 and his opponent quickly called.

When the {9-Hearts} completed the board, Racener fired a 2,300 bet and his opponent didn't take long to push in a call. Racener looked hesitant to show and his opponent revealed {K-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} for a pair of queens. Racener mucked and is down to 26,000.

The Chew Chew Train

Three-way to the flop, the board was reading {K-Clubs}{6-Spades}{3-Diamonds} and was checked to Andrew Lichtenberger in the cutoff who bet 800. The small blind folded but the hijack made the call to see the {4-Spades} turn before he checked to Lichtenberger, who fired out 1,625 this time.

The hijack called a second time to see the {2-Clubs} river and then led out for 2,900, Lichtenberger responded with a substantial raise to 17,400 and was rewarded with a call. "LuckyChewy" turned over {7-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} for the nut straight and is already up to 50,000 as a result.

Djk as easy as 1-2-3

An early position player raised to 300 and was called by the next player to act along with Dan ‘djk123’ Kelly in the cutoff as well as the button and the small blind. The flop came down {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}{6-Clubs} and it was checked to Kelly who bet 1,000. The original raiser was the only caller and he check-called another Kelly bet of 2,200 when the {A-Diamonds} hit the turn. On the {9-Diamonds} river, the player checked again but this time he folded when Kelly bet 5,600.

Kelly, the 2010 $25,000 No-Limit Hold’em Six Handed Champ is off to a good start so far here in the main.

Bad Start for Grinder

Mac Sohrabi lost roughly a third of his chips in a hand against Chris King to start the day, but then doubled through Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi.

On a board of {4-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{10-Spades}, Sohrabi led out for a bet and Mizrachi put him all in. Sohrabi called, and Mizrachi was drawing dead.

Sohrabi: {a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}
Mizrachi: {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

The river was the {q-Hearts}, completing Grinder's flush, but it was irrelevant, leaving grinder with just over 13,000 chips.

Jon Aguiar Takes One Early

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

We caught up to find Jon Aguiar putting out a bet of 300 from early position. Rep Porter in the small blind, as well as the player in the big blind opted to call and see a flop. With a {9-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} flop being spread out both blinds checked and Aguiar continued his aggression with a 700 bet. Porter folded, but the big blind called.

With a {5-Hearts} landing on the turn the big blind checked again, which lead to Aguiar betting 1,500. After some mild contemplation the big blind folded and Aguiar took down the small pot.

Stumbling Out of the Gate(s)

Mac Sohrabi limped in, Garry Gates raised to 350, and Zach Hyman three-bet to 850 with position. The action folded back to Gates who called, and the flop fell {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{2-Hearts}. Gates check-called a 1,200-chip bet, and the turn was the {4-Diamonds}. Gates checked, Hyman tossed out 2,700, and Gates mucked.

Blue's "Table of Doom"

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

With the massive amount of unknown players who enter the main event, it's always a bit of a spectacle when a number of well-known players end up seated at the same table. We've spotted one such table here in the blue section. Table #295 is home to Guillaume Rivet, Jake Cody, Vivek Rajkumar, Ken Aldridge, and Mike Watson.

In a recent hand at that table one of the "unknowns" took a little from Rivet. Rivet raised to 275 from the small blind only to have the big blind re-raise to 800 total. Rivet called and the flop came {7-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} prompting him to check. The big blind then bet 1,500 and Rivet folded but he still has around 32,500 in his stack.
