Duhamel Doubles

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Jonathan Duhamel
Jonathan Duhamel

Max Weinberg opened to 7,500 preflop and was called by a player on the button before Jonathan Duhamel three-bet shoved all in for 54,500 from the small blind. Weinberg made the call as the player in the middle passed.

Weinberg: {A-Spades}{10-Diamonds}
Duhamel: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}

With Duhamel in dominating shape, the {9-Spades}{8-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} board would see his superior kicker hold strong as he doubled to 125,000 while Weinberg slipped to 264,000 in chips.

Ku Catches Lucky, Cracks Big Slick

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

After seeing a flop of {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{4-Spades}, Min Ku got it all-in against a shorter stack and showed his {A-Clubs}{6-Clubs}. Ku was dominated by the {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds} of his opponent and needed to catch a three-outer to take the pot.

The dealer peeled the {6-Diamonds} on the turn and one of those three outs had arrived. The player holding big slick was furious, screaming "disgusting!" as he paced around the table in agony. When the {3-Spades} fell on the river, Ku's come from behind victory was completed. His stunned opponent appeared to be frozen in place, staring down at the final board he would see in this event as if he couldn't believe his eyes.

Van Zadelhoff Vanquished

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Ricky Fohrenbach opened with a preflop raise before Steven van Zadelhoff committed the remainder of his chips with Fohrenbach making the call.

Fohrenbach: {J-}{J-}
van Zadelhoff: {A-}{10-}

The board up until the river saw three queens which left van Zadelhoff needing an ace or queen on the river to stay alive, but alas it wouldn't fall as he was bumped to the rail as Fohrenbach moved to 300,000 in chips.

Flack Stumbles

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Our PokerNews field reporter walked over to Layne Flack's table and shot the multi-bracelet winner a look of confusion as he was all in for just a single 500 chip.

"Pair and a flush against a drunk!" spat out Flack.

Flack would manage to see that 500 turn into 5,000 when a few players committed some chips preflop - including the antes - as the final board of {6-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{9-Clubs} saw Flack's {A-Clubs}{8-Clubs} guarantee him the pot .

Flack Finds Aces

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

The Layne Flack show continues as this time he called all in after a preflop raise.

Flack: {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}
Opponent: {A-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}

"I have top pair!" exclaimed Flack before the board was shown, and when it was spread, it read {2-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{6-Spades}{10-Clubs}{10-Spades} to ensure Flack more then a double to 17,500 in chips.

"I'm a hard man to sink!" added Flack as he raked in the pot.

Double Digits

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

With the elimination of Brian Wong in 100th place, we are now down to double digits as 99 players remain in Event #4.

Cohen Continues Climbing

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

We just witnessed two hands involving Samantha Cohen and after winning each of them, she now sits among or leaders with a stack of approximately 260,000 chips.

First, Cohen raised to 7,500 from the button and faced an all-in three-bet of 23,500 by a player in the big blind. Her {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs} held up against the opponent's {A-Hearts}{8-Hearts} after the board ran out {5-}{4-}{J-}{4-}{2-}.

Just a few hands later, Cohen saw a flop of {2-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} in a heads-up pot. With around 25,000 chips up for grabs both players checked the turn of {6-Clubs} and we saw a river of {7-Hearts}.

Cohen led out for a bet of 25,000 and after a minute or so of deliberation, her opponent made the crying call. Cohen tabled the {A-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for a rivered two pair and she now sits with one of the largest stacks in the tournament.

Cross Spikes Queens, Eliminates Another

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Valerie Cross raised to 8,000 from early position and was met with an all-in raise to 30,000 from the cutoff. Cross asked for a count and then slid out a call.

Cross: {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}
Opponent: {A-Spades}{J-Hearts}

The {8-Spades}{4-Hearts}{5-Spades}{9-Hearts} board wasn't looking too promising for Cross, but a {Q-Spades} hit the river, pairing her hand and sending her opponent to the rail.

Cross' stack is now among the chip leaders at 325,000.
