Pesek Can't Crack Cowboys

Level 9 : 300/600, 75 ante

Michael Pesek called after a player in the big blind went all in for his last 7,700 chips and Pesek tabled the {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}. He found himself trailing the {K-Spades}{K-Clubs} held by his opponent and the dealer revealed a flop of {9-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}.

Pesek found a few more outs in the form of a gutshot straight draw after the turn came {2-Clubs}, but the {J-Hearts} on the river was a complete blank and Pesek dropped to 28,000 or so in chips.

Eames Looks Up Jensen with One Pair

Level 9 : 300/600, 75 ante

Sitting at a table with plenty of other big stacks, John Eames just became the biggest by besting Nathan Jensen in a large part early in Day 2.

With the board reading {9-Spades}{7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{A-Spades} and over 14,000 already in the pot, Eames found himself facing a bet of 5,000 by Jensen. The smallish sizing could have been intended to look like a value bet, but after thinking for over two minutes Eames decided to look up his opponent.

Jensen immediately said "nice call" as Eames flipped up his {4-}{4-}, building his stack to over 90,000 as we head to an early color-up break.

Break Time

Level 9 : 300/600, 75 ante

The tournament has been paused for 20 minutes while the WSOP staff conduct a mass color-up of all the green 25-denomination chips in play.

Level: 10

Blinds: 400/800

Ante: 100

No Money for Orange

Level 10 : 400/800, 100 ante

Currently the tournament has been split up into three different sections here in the Amazon Room.

The majority of the players are located in the purple section, while there is overflow in both the blue and orange parts of the room.

The Tournament Director has just announced that those players located in the orange section will not be seated there when the money is reached - so don't get comfy because we may be in the money sooner rather then later.

Obrestad Out Early

Annette Obrestad ousted on Day 2
Annette Obrestad ousted on Day 2

We missed the early action, but Annette Obrestad found herself all in with her {9-}{7-} trailing the {Q-}{8-} held by Sergey Petrov.

The board read {A-}{8-}{8-}{2-}{Q-} and Obrestad, the youngest player to ever win a WSOP bracelet event in either Las Vegas or Europe, found herself eliminated quickly in Day 2.

Do We Have Another Ante-Gate on our Hands?

Level 10 : 400/800, 100 ante

With antes in effect, it’s imperative that both the dealer and the players are aware of who does and who doesn’t put in their antes. On the first hand back from break, Darryll Fish and Gary Goad were both pretty sure that they had put their antes in, but there was one missing. The floor was called over and Fish said that although he was pretty sure he had put in his ante, Goad seemed more certain. Thankfully, Fish said it was no big deal and tossed in the one black chip to avoid any confrontation.

The hand found Mahir Cenghil all in preflop and at risk against Charles Moore. Moore had Cenghil dominated with {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts} against {A-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} and the board ran out {K-Spades}{4-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} to eliminate Cenghil. Moore was up to 63,000 after the hand.

Neilson Flushed with Chips

Level 10 : 400/800, 100 ante

Catching the action with roughly 10,000 in the pot and the board reading {7-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} we found Daniel Neilson moving all in having his opponent covered.

His opponent instantly made the call and tabled his {K-Clubs}{5-Clubs}, but it would be Neilson's {A-Clubs}{2-Clubs} that would see him collect the pot and move to roughly 48,000 in chips.
