Chidwick Loses Chunk

After a series of raises Stephen Chidwick had his shorter stacked opponent all in. It was essentially a coinflip once the cards were turned over, Chidwick holding {8-Clubs}{8-Spades} while his opponent had {A-Spades}{j-Spades}. Both players had a great chance to take down the pot so long as the board went in their favor.

A {k-Spades}{j-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} flop was positioned in the middle of the table, and Chidwick was immediately behind. Running straight cards or an eight would be his only savior. A {5-Diamonds} on the turn, and a {5-Spades} on the river finished off the hand and Chidwick was forced to send away about 30,000 of his stack.

Here are a few recent eliminations.

As was just reported Stephen Chidwick lost a chunk of his stack, it appears he wasn't able to recover and was sent to the rail a little bit ago.

Last PokerStars Team Pro Falls

PokerStars Team Pro and the 2011 WSOP Main Event Runner Up Martin Staszko was eliminated. Action was folded around to him in the small blind and he shoved with around 30,000. Noah Vaillencourt was in the big blind and called holding {Q-Hearts} {J-Hearts}.

Staszko was at risk holding {K-} {3-}. The board ran {A-} {10-} {8-} {3-} {9-} and Vaillencourt rivered the straight to eliminate Staszko.

Wheeland Added 150k Since Restart

Dewayne Wheeland returned to Day 2 with just 29,800, now he's within shouting distance of 200,000. Just before the last break Wheeland chipped up holding {A-Spades} {6-Spades} and made a straight on a {8-} {5-} {9-} {7-} [X] board and was paid off by an opponent holding pocket jacks.

A few minutes ago Wheeland called in position holding {9-Spades} {6-Spades} in the big blind. He ended up rivering a straight and his opponent bluff-shoved on the river. Wheeland happily called and felted his opponent.

Downswing

Noah Vaillencourt just found himself near the top of the chip counts in the room, and we recently caught up with him during a hand to see how he was faring. With a {Q-Spades}{10-Spades}{10-Clubs} in the middle of the felt we saw Vailencourt fire out 4,700 from the cut-off. His opponent on the button quickly raised and made it 13,400. Vailencourt seemed a little exasperated, but completed the call.

A {5-Spades} on the turn brought a silent check from Vailencourt. The button then moved all in for about 29,000. Vailencourt again seemed pretty jumbled and eventually made a disgruntled call.

Vailencourt: {K-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
Button: {K-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

Vailencourt was going to need a genuine one-outer if he wanted to claim this hand, the last king in the deck. Instead a {6-Spades} planted on the river and Vailencourt shipped over a chunk of his stack.
