Puchkov Draws Very Well

"Wow, you draw well!" said a table mate to Konstantin Puchkov after his 2,500 bet from the button was called by Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier in the big blind.

Puchkov opened {8-}{7-}{6-}{5-}{2-} and ElkY mucked.

"He draws two and hits an eighty-seven. Wow!" the same player continued in a broad Texan drawl.

Mizrachi Trying to Win This Thing Today

Michael Mizrachi has eliminated another player to stretch his lead at the top.

We got their at the end of the hand but all the chips went in pre draw, and both players went on to draw one card apiece.

Mizrachi opened {9-}{8-}{3-}{2-} and then opened a {k-}. His opponent was in great shape to double-up with his {9-}{8-}{3-}{2-} but he opened a {a-} and was eliminated.

Can anyone stop "The Grinder" when he's running like this?

Verkaik Doubles Through Cantu

Nicholas Verkaik raised pre flop from the cutoff, and Brandon Cantu called from the button after which the small blind, Charalampos Lappas, called as well.

The small blind stood pat, Verkaik and Cantu both drew one.

The small blind checked and Verkaik moved all in for his last 5,100 chips. Cantu made the call, and after tanking for quite some time Lappas folded.

Verkaik turned over {7-}{6-}{5-}{3-}{2-} and with a sigh Cantu mucked his hand.

"I think I had you beat," Lappas said, who stood pat but ended up folding his hand when Cantu called Verkaik's bet. Verkaik regained some ground and stay alive in this event.

Double Up For Makiievskyi

Former November Nine finalist Anton Makiievskyi has just secured himself of a double up. The Ukrainian player moved all in under the gun for his final 7,375 and, Benvenuti made the call from the cutoff. John Phan was on the button and tanked for a long time before folding, something he didn't really seemed to want.

Makiievskyi drew one card after which Benvenuti stood pat. Phan was really disappointed when he saw the following cards.

Anton Makiievskyi{8-}{7-}{3-}{2-}
Michael Benvenuti{J-}{6-}{5-}{4-}{2-}

Makievskyi drew the {5-} to stay alive and Phan claimed he had fold {9-}{8-}{7-}{X-}{x-}.

"Good game, Greg"

Grag Raymer played out a big pre draw pot with Bryan Devonshire a short while ago and managed to force him off his hand. Not so the second time they clashed, and it cost him tournament life.

There was an early position raise to 2,300 before Devonshire three-bet to 6,500, and Raymer moved all in. The original raiser folded but Devonshire called and stood pat immediately.

Raymer drew one and then watched Devonshire open {9-}{8-}{5-}{4-}{3-}.

"I have that beat right now," said Raymer as he opened {7-}{8-}{4-}{3-}. He needed to avoid a pair or any card higher than a nine. He opened {j-Spades} though.

"Good game, Greg." said Devonshire.

A few moments later Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier was also eliminated.

George Hooked by the Fischman

Christopher George's table broke and he was moved to table #459, and the first hand he played was in the big blind. It was also the last hand he played.

Scott Fischman opened from the button and called when George shoved. George drew one as Fischman stood pat.

Fischman opened {j-}{10-}{6-}{4-}{7-}. George had a draw to a better hand with {8-}{6-}{3-}{2-} but paired with a {2-} to bust.

A few moments later Aaron Jones also busted from the same table.

Verkaik Misses The Money

After a raise from Nicholas Verkaik his neighbor Brandon Cantu opted to three-bet to 5,000. The action got back to Verkaik who moved all in for 17,400 total. Cantu tanked for a long time, wanted the dealer to pull in the call, and eventually put in the extra chips.

Both players stood pat.

Nicholas Verkaik{10-}{7-}{5-}{X-}{X-}
Brandon Cantu{9-}{8-}{7-}{6-}{2-}

We couldn't get a clear view on Verkaik's cards as he mucked them when Cantu turned over the winning hand.

Value For Alioto

Michael Benvenuti raised it up to 1,600 from the under the gun position and the action got folded to Rep Porter who made the call. Dario Alioto was in the big blind and he made the call as well.

Alioto stood pat and both Porter and Benvenuti drew two cards.

The Italian pro slid out a 4,700 chip bet and Benvenuti made the call. Porter folded and Alioto turned over {7-}{6-}{5-}{4-}{2-}. Benvenuti mucked his cards and Alioto raked in another nice pot.
