Good morning and welcome back to the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino, where players are preparing to compete in this World Series of Poker’s first and only full-ring $3,000 No-Limit Hold’em buy-in event!
Unlike the several $1,000 and $1,500 No-Limit events that feature shorter stacks and massive fields, the players willing to pony up for this event will begin with stacks of 9,000, which arguably allows for more strategic deep-stacked play. In any case, we don’t expect there will be an abundance of soft spots in today’s field!
Interestingly, there were no $3,000 No-Limit Hold’em events during last year's WSOP . The last $3,000 full-ring No-Limit event occurred in 2010, when Ryan Welch won his first bracelet in Event #51: $3,000 Triple Chance No-Limit Hold’em.
Will we see a new face claim a WSOP gold bracelet? Or will victory go the way of a well-known and experienced pro? Play is set to begin at 12:00 PM PST, so stay tuned right here at PokerNews as we provide you with action from floor all throughout Day 1!
