Welch Has Nice Board, but Must Fold to Bradley

Jeffery Welch seemed to have drawn a really nice board on this hand against Cheryl Bradley, but Bradley's board looked like she could easily beat him. Let's take a look.

Welch: (x)(x) / {J-Spades}{9-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{10-Hearts} - fold
Bradley: (x)(x) / {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}

Bradley bet out on fifth street with her pair of aces and Welch called. Welch picked up a very nice card on sixth to give him a very, very draw-heavy board in view. Bradley, though, added trips on her board and kept firing. Welch showed the {K-Spades}{5-Spades} from his hand for a made straight and a flush draw, but folded fearing quads or a full house from Bradley.

Proulx and Kuzmin Bust

Alexander Kuzmin finally decided to show up, but has just busted along with Miguel Proulx.

Kuzmin was all in against Vitaly Lunkin on fifth street showing ({3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}) / {10-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}. Lunkin held the ({A-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}) / {A-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}. Lunkin added a {Q-Diamonds} on sixth and a {3-Clubs} on seventh. Kuzmin couldn't beat him when he pulled the {7-Hearts} and {J-Hearts} and was eliminated.

Proulx lost to Anthony Farrell's jack-high straight to bust on another table.

Adinolfi Fills Up Against Grizzle

Mario Adinolfi (Day 1)
Mario Adinolfi (Day 1)

Mario Adinolfi was leading for a good portion of the day yesterday, but has lost a bit of traction and slipped back to the middle of the pack. He just won a decent pot off Sam Grizzle, though, to get back to 14,000 in chips. Adinolfi made fours full of threes to scoop the pot while Grizzle mucked his hand on the end and dropped back under 30,000 in chips.

Good Save By Douglas

Chau Giang (Day 1)
Chau Giang (Day 1)

After Barry Greenstein brought in with the {2-Hearts} up, Shane Douglas was next in line with the {K-Clubs} showing and completed. Chau Giang was the only caller.

Douglas: (x)(x) / {K-Clubs}{8-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} / (X)
Giang: (x)(x) / {9-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} / (x)

On fourth street, Douglas bet and Giang called. The same action happened on fifth, but then Giang picked up the leading hand with a pair of nines showing on sixth. He led with a bet and Douglas called. On seventh, Giang bet again. Douglas took a bit of time and then finally made the call.

Giang turned over the {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for nines full of jacks. Douglas showed that he made three queens with the {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}, but it was a losing hand. The table were astonished by how disciplined Douglas was in not raising on seventh and saving some bets.

Greenstein Chips Up

Barry Greenstein just chipped up a bit after making an ace-high flush in a hand against two opponents. He went all the way to seventh with the two players, but one of them folded on the end. The other player, Kami Chisholm, couldn't beat the flush and mucked his hand without showing. Greenstein is now up to about 25,000.

Isra Out

Roland Isra was just eliminated by Scott Abrams. Isra was all in on by fifth street with his hand of ({J-Hearts}{5-Spades}) / {J-Spades}{9-Spades}{10-Diamonds} against the ({Q-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}) / {Q-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{2-Spades} for Abrams.

Abrams made this nice and quick when he picked up the {2-Hearts} on sixth street to fill up. Isra landed the {3-Hearts} and was drawing dead.

Abrams, who has two World Series of Poker cashes on record from 2011, moved up to 39,000 in chips.
