Day 2 About to Start!
Yesterday promised to be one of the most action packed Day 1's of the series, and it didn't disappoint, as we whittled 924 players down to just 122 in the $2,500 No-Limit Hold'em Six Handed. After ten levels of play, it is Tammy Tibbles who leads the way with 233,300, while bracelet winner Steve Kelly is not far behind with 224,000.
Virtually anyone who is anyone in the poker community came out for this big event yesterday. As expected, we have a stacked field of pros coming into the day, with many of them carrying some big stacks. The two biggest are WPT Championship winners Tuan Le (149,000) and Chino Rheem (136,400).
Along with these two, we will also see these players back on the six handed felts today: Scott Clements (122,000), Vanessa Russo (73,500), JC Tran (72,300), Chris Moorman (71,000), David Peters (70,800), David Randall (67,300), Ray Henson (61,000), Humbert Brenes (56,100), and Andrew Lichtenberger (49,200), amongst many others.
122 players are coming back today, but only 108 of them will walk away with extra money in their pockets. That means that we will lost just over two tables of players before we hit the money. While this might normally take a while, we expect it to happen rather quickly given the format and the talent of the players still in the field.
Play is scheduled to get underway in just under an hour. As always, the plan is to play down to a final table today, but if the final table isn't reached, then play will stop after 10 levels. Mike Leah came into today with just over 14 big blinds, so we knew he would be ready to get it in. Sure enough, he moved all in from under the gun on the first hand of the day, and when it got to the big blind, Thad Smith, he made the call.

No Second Bracelet for Beauprez

John Beauprez was hoping to win back-to-back bracelets after winning the $1,500 Six Max just a few days ago, but he came back fairly short and was ready to get it in the middle. Well that happened in one of the first few hands of the day, and while we didn't catch it, he did tweet the details.

Meeks Doubles Early

After the flop fell Paradis immediately went all in. Like a flash in a pan Meeks called. Meeks was the one at risk.

Up and Down for Moorman

Here's something that you probably already knew. Chris Moorman is an action player. We figured with the money bubble looming that he would be getting involved in a lot of pots, and so far, he hasn't disappointed.
In the first hand, we saw Blaz Svara raise it up to 2,100, and Cliff Goldkind call from the button. Moorman was in the small blind, and he put in a three bet to 7,500. Svara folded after about a minute of thought, but Goldkind stuck around for the call. The flop came down 
, and Moorman fired out 7,700. He was called, and the turn brought the 
. Again Moorman fired out, this time for 12,500, and Goldkind tanked for a minute or so before calling.
The river was the , and Moorman slowed down and checked this time. Goldkind decided to go all in, a move that would cost Moorman almost all of his chips if he lost. Moorman thought for about a minute, rechecked his hole cards, then sent them to the dealer, giving the pot to Goldkind.
Just a couple of hands later, we caught river action between Moorman and Thom Werthmann The board had completed 
, and Moorman had fired out a pot sized bet of 18,000. This was for virtually all of Werthmann's chips, as he would have just 2,000 left after. Eventually, he slid in the call, and Moorman rolled over 
for trip eights. Werthmann mucked, and busted shortly after.

Gonia KO's Levine

David Gonia who won the Pokernews Mid-states Poker Tour Main Event at Running Aces Harness Park. He had decided to call the all in of Matthew Levine. Levine had

Levine would need to improve but he ended up drawing virtually dead when Gonia flopped a set of fours. The turn and river blanked and Levine was gone. Gonia who is trying to get another title is up to 100,000.
