Bronshtein & Guss Chop Up Katchalov

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Brandon Guss: {x-}{x-} / {3-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{6-Clubs} / {x-}
Eugene Katchalov: {x-}{x-} / {7-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}
Yuval Bronshtein: {x-}{x-} / {5-Clubs}{a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} / {x-}

Brandon Guss brought it in with the {3-Hearts} and Eugene Katchalov called with the {7-Spades}. Yuval Bronshtein, who has been among the chip leaders all day, then completed it. The other two players not only called that, they called a bet of 2,500 from Bonshtein on fourth.

Fifth street saw Bronshtein slow down with a check, Guss bet and Katchalov call. Bronshtein came along as well and then checked sixth. Guss bet 5,000 again, Katchalov called and Bronshtein woke up with a check-raise to 10,000. Guss made it 15,000 to go and Katchalov thought long and hard before folding.

Bronshtein called and then check-called a bet on seventh.

Guss: {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
Bronshtein: {4-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}

"Flush with a seven-six," Guss said confidently. His high was good, but his low wasn't quite good enough.

"Seven-five," Bronshtein replied before being pushed half the pot.

Greenstein Flushed Away

Level 15 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Barry Greenstein
Barry Greenstein

Barry Greenstein: {x-}{x-} / {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{a-Hearts} / {x-}
Mike Matusow: {x-}{x-} (FOLDED)
Gavin Smith: {x-}{x-} / {4-Spades}{j-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{k-Hearts} / {x-}

Matusow brought it in, Smith called, and Greenstein completed. Only Smith called.

Greenstein bet out on fourth and fifth, Smith called both bets, and we're unsure of the action of the exact action on sixth and seventh. It look as if Greenstein bet out again on both streets, and on seventh he was all in. Regardless, all of the money went in on seventh, and the hands were open.

Greenstein: {6-Clubs}{6-Spades}{4-Diamonds}
Smith: {10-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{5-Clubs}

Smith made a flush on seventh, making Greenstein's aces and sixes no good and eliminating him from the tournament.

"You're a flush machine," Matusow said after the hand. "You've made more flushes today than I have all this year."

Francis Mariani: {x-}{x-} / {9-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} / {x-}

We caught the action on fourth when Steve Sung bet and both Francis Mariani and Daniel Negreanu called. All three players then checked fifth before Sung paired his jack and led out on sixth. Two calls ensued and the dealer dealt seventh.

Sung bet again, but this time Negreanu raised all in. Mariani and Sung called, and the former ended up with the high when he showed {q-}{j-}{j-}. Negreanu took the low with {9-Clubs}{2-Spades}{8-Spades}

Daniel Negreanu - Eliminated

Nikolai Yakovenko: {x-}{x-} / {2-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{8-Hearts} / {x-}
Daniel Negreanu: {x-}{x-} / {3-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} (FOLD)
Francis Mariani: {x-}{x-} / {j-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} / {x-}

We caught the action starting on fourth street, where Mariani bet out and both Yakovenko and Negreanu called. Yakovenko caught a pair on fifth street, bet out, and only Mariani called. Yakovenko led out on sixth and seventh, Mariani called both bets, and Yakovenko showed {7-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} for trip fours and a low. He scooped the pot.

Steve Sung: {x-}{x-} / {k-Hearts} (FOLD)
Negreanu: {x-}{x-} / {8-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{5-Clubs} / {x-}
Mike Leah: {x-}{x-} / {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{8-Hearts} / {x-}
Owais Ahmed: {x-}{x-} / {4-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} (FOLD)

Ahmed brought it in, Sung and Negreanu both called, and Leah completed. Ahmed called, Sung called, and Negreanu made it three bets, going all in.

"How do you like that sneaky play!" Kid Poker exclaimed.

Leah raised again, and only Ahmed called.

Both players checked on fourth, Leah led out on fifth, and Ahmed folded.

Negreanu: {6-Spades}{5-Spades}
Leah: {8-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}

Negreanu was excited to make two pair on sixth, but then Leah was dealt a second queen, giving him a better two pair. Leah turned over the {j-Diamonds} on seventh, which was a blank, and Negreanu turned over his own brick - the {9-Hearts}.

"Good luck, everybody," Negreanu said before exiting.
