Welcome to Event #19: $5,000 Pot-Limit Hold'em

Welcome to Day 1 of Event #19: $5,000 Pot-Limit Hold'em! This is the biggest pot-limit hold'em event on the 2013 World Series of Poker schedule, and although the buy-in has been cut in half from the $10,000 entry fee in past years, it is still expected to draw some of the biggest names in the game.

Last year, Andy Frankenberger took down the $10,000 Pot-Limit Hold'em tournament, besting a field of 179 players to claim the top prize of $445,899. The whole poker world was watching as Frankenberger defeated Phil Ivey heads-up for the title, denying Ivey of his ninth bracelet while winning the second of his own.

This is the second pot-limit hold'em event at this year's WSOP. Lev Rofman emerged victorious in Event #13: $1,500 Pot-Limit Hold'em, topping a field of 535 to win his first bracelet and the top prize of $166,136. His victory also denied Allen Cunningham of his sixth WSOP bracelet; Cunningham finished runner-up after beginning the heads-up match with a sizable chip advantage.

Event #19 is set to begin at 5 p.m. local time. Players will begin with 15,000 in chips and play eight levels on Day 1, with twenty-minute breaks occurring after every two levels. We'll be on the scene providing all of the live coverage straight from the felt to your screen, so keep it locked in to PokerNews.com!
