Big Dog Hounds Sammartino

Level 18 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Barry Lang
Barry Lang

Action began preflop with Barry "Big Dog" Lang on the button. He raised to 8,000 and was called by Dario Sammartino from the big blind.

Both players checked on the {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{A-Clubs} flop to the {8-Spades} on the turn. On the turn, Sammartino led with a bet of 7,000. Lang put his hands behind his head, leaned back in his chair and closed his eyes. He sat in that position for nearly a minute before finally leaning forward and grabbing raising chips. He raised to 14,000 and without any theatrics, Sammartino called.

The river was the {5-Hearts} and Sammartino led out with a bet of 26,000. Almost instantly, Lang moved all in. This sent Sammartino into the tank. Frustratedly he turned over his {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs} and mucked it.

This sent Lang into a frenzied laughter.

"You fold that?" He chuckled.

"You had a six," Sammartino said, confident in his read.

"I bluffed you boy! You know I bluffed you. I bluffed you like the big dog I am."

"Show it," Sammartino responded.

Lang showed the {Q-Hearts} and that was it. "You know I'm a player."

With that, Lang picked up the lead in the heads-up match.

In the second hand Lang and Sammartino got it all in preflop once again.

Lang: {K-Hearts}{7-Hearts}
Sammartino: {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}

The dealer put out the board of {6-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{9-Spades} notching Sammartino his second double up in the match. Sammartino now holds the lead in the match.
