Monsacre Doubles to Stay Alive

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Hand #28

Kristen Bicknell opened to 20,000 from the button, and was called by Leanne Haas on the big blind. The flop came down {a-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}, as Haas threw out a bet of 18,000 which was called. The {9-Clubs} fell on the turn, and Haas checked her option, before letting it go, when Bicknell placed out a bet of 40,000 in chips.

Hand #29

The action folded around to Amanda Baker on the button, who opened to 20,000, which saw both blinds fold their hands.

Hand #30

Kristen Bicknell opened to 20,000, before Amanda Baker bumped it up to 50,000. Julie Monsacre then opted to move all in, totalling 90,000 in chips. Bicknell quickly mucked her hand, before Baker asked for a count, contemplating her decision. She eventually made the call, as both players tabled their hands.

Baker: {8-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}
Monsacre: {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}

Monsacre was at risk but in front, until the flop came down {2-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{q-Diamonds}, giving Baker the lead with a pair of queens. The {j-Diamonds} on the turn gave Monsacre some extra outs, as she was looking to hit and ace, king, ten or diamond to win the pot.

An eruption followed, as the {10-Diamonds} completed the board, giving Monsacre the win with a flush, as she doubled up to 218,000 in chips.
