Shorr Folds to a Cold Four-Bet

Level 3 : 75/150, 0 ante

The hijack made it 325 and right next to him Shannon Shorr made it 750 from the cut off. The player on the button cut out 2,050 from his stack and tossed them to the middle. The small blind folded instantly but the big blind had a tougher decision it looked like. After about a minute of thinking he released, and so did the hijack and Shorr. The button showed the {3-Diamonds} and cracked a big smile. Shorr still has 9,300 to play with, so he's still in great shape.

Blumenthal Low

Level 3 : 75/150, 0 ante
Eddie Blumenthal found himself in rough shape against queens.
Eddie Blumenthal found himself in rough shape against queens.

Eddie Blumenthal opened to 300 under the gun, and a player in middle position moved all in for about 2,200. A player in late position jammed as well for around 5,000. Blumenthal, who covered both of his opponents, thought briefly before calling.

Blumenthal: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}
Middle position: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}
Late position: {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

The player in late position was in great shape up against two shared overcards. The flop came {3-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}, and everything was still roses for him. A {10-Spades} on the turn and {6-Clubs} on the river kept it that way, and he took most of Blumenthal's stack and all of the other player's.

Chop It Up

Level 3 : 75/150, 0 ante

On a {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{7-Spades} | {J-Diamonds} board we saw David Peters bet 625 from the big blind. The player on the button made the call and the river was brought out: {5-Diamonds}. Peters thought about it for a second, before checking. The player on the button checked behind, announcing ace high. Peters tabled his {A-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} and his opponent opened {A-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}.

"If that eight would have gotten out, we would have gone crazy" the button laughed with a serious undertone. Peters smiled and started stacking the chips he had put into the pot himself.

"Bond" Yields Under Pressure

Level 3 : 75/150, 0 ante

Tony Dunst bet out 1,400 on a {J-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} | {2-Clubs} | {8-Clubs} board. Dunst, acting out of the big blind, faced a raise to 3,475 and tanked about it for some time. Eventually he said "I fold" while grabbing his card protector chips back. The dealer slid his cards to the muck and another hand started. Dunst fazed out and peered straight ahead for a second. He recovered himself shortly after and continues the tournament with 5,800 in chips.

Busquet Low, Cunningham and Williams Arrive

Level 4 : 100/200, 0 ante

We found Allen Cunningham and David Williams squirreled away in the back corner of the Silver section. Meanwhile, Olivier Busquet appears to be having a rough time of it at a nearby table, as he's down to about a quarter of the starting stack.

Xuan Liu Eliminated

Level 4 : 100/200, 0 ante

We missed the precise pre flop action but we did witness Xuan Liu just getting knocked out. She was involved in a big three way pre flop all in. From the button she had all her chips in het middle with {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs} while the small blind tabled {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}. The big blind had {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts} so Liu had all the black cards and queens going for her.

Besides the small and big blind the rest of the table seemed optimistic Liu would hit. She wouldn't. On the turn she had all the clubs as outs but the river would turn out to be a blank: {10-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{3-Spades} | {8-Clubs} | {8-Hearts}. One of the blinds was short with 4,125 but the other had Liu covered so she exited the tournament area.
