Marco Johnson Eliminated in 8th Place ($20,669)

Level 22
Marco Johnson - 8th Place.
Marco Johnson - 8th Place.

No-Limit Hold'em

Greg Mueller opened to 13,500 from under the gun. Marco Johnson shipped for 74,500 more from the small blind, and the big blind folded. Mueller went into the tank, saying he had a good hand but didn't want Johnson to feel slowrolled. Finally, he called.

Mueller: {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Johnson: {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}

"Not what I wanted to see," Mueller said.

The {q-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} was exactly what he wanted to see, however. A {4-Clubs} turn meant Johnson needed a king or a jack to survive. The river was the {7-Clubs}, however, and Johnson was finished.

Travis Pearson Eliminated in 9th Place ($16,118)

Level 22
Travis Pearson - 9th Place
Travis Pearson - 9th Place

No-Limit Hold'em

Steven Wolansky opened to 18,000 from the hijack and Eric Crain cut out a three-bet to 35,000 from the next seat over. It folded to Travis Pearson in the small blind and he announced a four-bet all in for 135,000. Wolansky tanked for about a minute before folding. Crain called and the hands were tabled:

Crain: {A-Clubs}{k-Spades}
Pearson: {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}

Pearson seized a tight grip on the hand when he flopped a set on the {5-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{10-Clubs} flop.

"Jacks are live!" someone chimed from the other end of the table.

Just like that the {J-Hearts} struck the turn, giving Crain Broadway and the lead. The {3-Clubs} bricked out for Pearson on the river and Crain was able to score the elimination.

"I folded pocket jacks," said a stunned Wolansky after the hand. The rest of the table gasped at this admission.

With Pearson's elimination, we are officially at our final table!

Chris Tryba Eliminated in 10th Place ($16,118)

Level 22
Chris Tryba - 10th Place.
Chris Tryba - 10th Place.

Stud Eight or Better

Chris Tryba, Michael Malm and Travis Pearson each put three bets in on fifth street, leaving Tryba all in. Malm bet sixth into a small side pot, and Pearson called. If there was seventh street action, we didn't catch it.

Tryba: {3-}{5-}/{a-Clubs}{2-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}/{x-}
Malm: {9-}{9-}{x-}/{4-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{k-Clubs}{7-Spades}
Pearson: {x-}{x-}{x-}/{6-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{j-Spades}

Malm had Pearson beat for the side pot with kings up, and Tryba quickly realized he had outs to scoop the whole pot: an ace, a deuce or a four. Any low would give him half the pot. He squeezed out his final card, then tossed a {j-Diamonds} high into the air.

We'll have an updated count on Malm shortly.

Ohel: {A-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}
Crain: {A-Clubs}{j-Clubs}

Ohel failed to improve as the board fell down and Crain's ace-jack finished as the best hand. Ohel will collect $12,728 for his efforts.

Chris Reslock - 12th Place

Omaha Eight-or-Better

After a series of preflop raises, we found Chris Reslock all in and at risk before the flop against Michael Hurey.

Reslock: {K-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}
Hurey: {A-Spades}{j-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{5-Clubs}

Hurey flopped two pair on {J-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{9-Spades} and never looked back as the {Q-Hearts} turned and the {J-Spades} rivered to give him jacks full of fives. Reslock was eliminated in 12th place and will take home $12,728 in tournament winnings.

Crain Takes Massive Stud Pot

Level 21
Eric Crain swept up one of the biggest pots yet.
Eric Crain swept up one of the biggest pots yet.

Stud

Chris Reslock fired out on fourth street after he, Dario Alioto and Eric Crain each put in four bets initially. Reslock had a king-ace, Crain had a jack-queen, and Alioto had a deuce-four. Alioto raised and Crain called, as did Reslock.

Fifth street brought a five for Alioto, an eight for Crain, and a ten for Reslock. Crain took the lead, betting the final three streets, and both players called down until Alioto mucked after all the cards.

Crain: {10-Spades}{6-Spades}{3-Hearts}/{j-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{8-Spades}{9-Diamonds}
Reslock: {x-}{x-}{x-}/{k-Hearts}{a-Spades}{10-Clubs}{7-Hearts}
Alioto: {x-}{x-}{x-}/{2-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{5-Spades}{q-Hearts}

Crain dragged the massive pot with his straight.

Wolansky Continues to Dominate

Level 20
Steven Wolansky Crushing
Steven Wolansky Crushing

No-Limit Hold'em

Marco Johnson opened with an early position raise to 10,000. Chris Tryba called from the cutoff and action trickled down to Steven Wolansky in the big blind. Wolansky cut out a three-bet to 32,000 which allowed Johnson to get out of the hand. Tryba quickly called and the two took a flop.

The dealer fanned {10-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{2-Spades} on the felt and Wolansky checked. Tryba moved 40,000 into the middle and Wolansky took his time making a call. The {3-Hearts} hit the turn and Wolansky checked once more. Tryba tapped the table behind and the {K-Spades} finished the board. Both players checked again and Wolansky tabled {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}. Tryba mucked and Wolansky picked up the pot.

Wolansky has now extended his lead even further and is sitting on about 655,000.

Benjamin Pollak Eliminated in 13th Place ($10,186)

Benjamin Pollak
Benjamin Pollak

Stud Eight or Better

Eric Crain was betting every street with an ace-six-jack, and Benjamin Pollak called off the remainder of his chips with a five-king-queen and two clubs.

Crain: {8-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}/{a-Hearts}{6-Spades}{j-Hearts}{3-Hearts}
Pollak: {6-Clubs}{2-Clubs}/{5-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{q-Spades}{3-Clubs}

"I've got outs," Crain said, scanning the face-up cards. "Well, so do you." Indeed, Crain could catch a heart to make a high to go with his low, while Pollak alread had a club flush and was a seven, ace, or four away from a low. The dealer tossed out seventh street.

"I got there," Crain said, revealing a {k-Hearts}. Pollak sighed in disbelief, showing a blank {9-Hearts}. Crain's ace-high flush and eight-six low scooped the pot, eliminating Pollak.

Josh Arieh Eliminated in 15th Place ($8,262)

Stud Eight-or-Better

Dario Alioto: {x-}{x-} / {9-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{7-Spades}{4-Diamonds} / {x-}
Josh Arieh: {x-}{x-} / {6-Spades}{8-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} / {x-}

We picked up with the action on fifth street to see both players check. Arieh fired out a bet on sixth street and Alioto went into the tank.

"There's no shame in folding," said Arieh.

Another moment passed and Alioto announced a call. Arieh moved in for his last 14,500 after seventh street was dealt and Alioto called.

"Two pair," said Arieh.

Alioto rolled over {4-Spades}{4-Clubs}{2-} for trip fours. Arieh shot out of his seat and smacked his cards down on the table. He was eliminated in 15th place and will collect $8,262.
