Iacofano Climbing

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

Frank Athey opened with a raise and Kevin Iacofano made it three bets from the button. The big blind called and Athey came along as well. For the first draw, the big blind and Athey each took two while Iacofano pulled one. Action checked around to Iacofano, he tossed out a bet, and both of his opponents called.

The second draw saw the big blind take one, Athey take two, and Iacofano pull one. Action checked around to the third draw where each player pulled one card. Action checked to Athey, he bet out, Iacofano called, and the big blind folded.

"I paired up," said Athey, showing {7-}{7-}{4-}{3-}{2-}

Iacofano rolled over {8-}{7-}{5-}{4-}{2-} for an eighty-seven to win the hand. He was pushed the pot and now has about 40,000 in chips.

Leah Makes Wheel Against Shakirov

Level 14 : 2,000/40,000, 0 ante

Mike Leah popped it up with a raise from the small blind and Rinat Shakirov called from the big blind. At the first draw, Leah took one and Shakirov opted for two. Leah bet, Shakirov raised and Leah called.

The second draw saw Leah pull one card and Shakirov stand pat. Leah checked and Shakirov continued his aggression with a bet. This time, however, it was Leah who came out with a raise. Shakirov called.

Both players stood pat on the final draw and Leah fired one last time. Shakirov called but mucked his hand after seeing Leah's {7-}{5-}{4-}{3-}{2-} for the wheel.

The start-of-day chip leader pulled in the pot and now has about 99,000 in chips.
