Trumper Sliding

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Simon Trumper
Simon Trumper

After a strong start Simon Trumper is sliding down the leader board. He is being hampered by a big stack to his right and in one hand where the big stack limped and another player raised Trumper laid down {j-}{j-}.

He would have had to go with all his chips, he explained, or fold and he chose the latter only to see the flop was {8-}{9-}{10-} and the big stack ended up winning with {a-}{k-}.

Another hand he played was when he had {a-}{q-} against what turned out to be {a-}{k-} but he missed the flop and folded.

Apart from that the blinds and antes have been eating away at his stack and he is now down to 26,000. He will need to make some moves soon.

Straight Flush For Blount

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

We were called to a table by one of the player who wanted to share an important hand. Apparently Ronald Blount went all in with {9-Clubs}{7-Clubs} on a {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{X-} flop against pocket tens. The turn provided an {8-} to improve his opponent to a full house but the {6-Clubs} river ensured the double up via straight flush! Nice hand Sir.

Byrne Folds

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

We do have another Irishman left in the tournament and it is Sean Byrne. He flatted a raise to 6,500 from the cutoff and the big blind called as well to see the {3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} flop. The big blind check-folded, the initial raiser continued for 8,500 and Byrne made it 19,000 to go. The villain now moved all in for about 100,000 and that won the pot. Byrne is still at two times the average though.

Munro Crushing

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Richard Munro
Richard Munro

Richard Munro lost a few pots earlier on but he climbed right back on that horse and has steadily built his stack back up to well over 200,000 to challenge for the lead again.

A flavor of how he did it is reflected in a recent hand where there was an open to 4,800 from the lady two seats to his right in early position and after a quick glance at his cards Muro announced, “Twelve eight.” and threw out raising chips to make it 12,800.

The blinds and everybody else got out of his way and he picked up some more chips to add to his stack.

Timmins Left With Dust

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

On a {8-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{k-Spades} flop the action between Terry Timmins and Michael Wilson escalated to see Wilson at risk for his last 115,000. He had the better hand though in {K-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} and Timmins had a slightly worse kicker with {K-Hearts}{10-Clubs}. Both the {A-Spades} turn and the {Q-Clubs} river blanked out and one of the bigger stacks going into the day is now left with around 14 big blinds.

Wilson Also Takes The Rest

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

It didn't take long for Terry Timmins to make a move after being crippled just before the break and he picked the most unfortunate timing. Michael Wilson, who he already lost the huge pot to, woke up behind him with {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds} and Timmins stood no chance at all with {A-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}. After the {8-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{2-Spades}{3-Spades} turn he was already drawing dead and got picked up one community card later to receive his payout.

"It is all good," he said with a smile on the face before exiting the tournament area.
