Donna Doomed

Level 13 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Donna Rosenthal
Donna Rosenthal

It has been a pleasure to watch Donna Rosenthal navigate through this field, two major upsets however caused her to run out of chips entirely. Just now she three-bet shoved out of the small blind with {K-Clubs}{K-Spades} and initial raiser David Vida called with {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} from the button.

The {9-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} flop saw her still ahead but provided another sweat with the flush draw, the {9-Clubs} turn changed nothing but the {A-Clubs} river sent Rosenthal to the rail. "They got me twice on the river. That's poker. I could have taken it all," she said before heading to the payout desk.

Trumper In it To Win It

Level 13 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Simon Trumper
Simon Trumper

We had a brief chat with Simon Trumper between hands and after initially hating his new table with Sammy Farha to his left he has now completely changed his mind and he loves it.

As he explained it, by having the strong Farha to his left, when he makes a raise it makes his hand look much stronger. So far he has used this to his advantage to chip up in several hands. He also gave us an appraisal of his table and how quickly he had categorized the players based on their actions and a few hands they had showed down.

There is a long way to go in the tournament and Trumper was not satisfied with making the money, far from it. “I’m only interested in first.” he said and then sat down to play a hand.

Trumper raised in early position for 3,200 and got one caller in the big blind. They saw a flop of {8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{k-Spades}. It was checked to Trumper who bet 4,800. His opponent eyed him suspiciously but made the call after a minutes thought.

The turn card was the {3-Hearts}. Checked again to Trumper who neatly placed out a bet of 10,450. His opponent eyed him up even more suspiciously and toyed with his chips for a while. Eventually though he let his hand go.

Trumper showed the table the {4-Clubs}{2-Spades} for the stone cold bluff.

"First time I've made a move all day." he announced as he scooped in the pot.

He sure has his eyes on the prize.

Marcia Is Hooked

Level 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Straight from the break into six digits for Marcia Topp. A player limped in late position and so did the button, Topp raised to 8,000 in the small blind and the first limper moved all in for what looked like 25,000. The second opponent folded but Topp snap called with {J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}.

Her opponent was behind with {8-Clubs}{8-Spades} and could not improve anymore as the board ran out {4-Spades}{3-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}.
