Level 18 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
David Bach - 8th place
David Bach - 8th place

David Bach completed and Brandon Shack-Harris raised. Bach committed his final few chips and Shack-Harris made the call as both player's board ran out as follows:

Bach: {A-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} / {6-Hearts}{3-Spades}{6-Spades}{A-Diamonds} / {9-Spades}
Shack-Harris: {A-Spades}{5-Clubs} / {7-Spades}{Q-Spades}{3-Clubs}{2-Spades} / {5-Spades}

With Bach's nine-six unable to best Shack-Harris' seven-five, Bach's quest for a Razz title from three consecutive final tables has come to an end as he heads to the rail in 8th place for a $34,500 payday.

Todd Dakake completed and David Bach called before he check-called fourth and fifth street. On sixth, Dakake bet and Bach called before Dakake bet the river dark.

Dakake: (X-X) / {7-Spades}{2-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{9-Spades} / (X)
Bach: (X-X) / {A-Clubs}{4-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} / (X)

Bach made the call, but when Dakake tabled his {5-Clubs}{3-Clubs} / {Q-Clubs}, he scooped the pot to move to nearly 600,000 in chips.

Dan O'Brien Eliminated in 9th Place ($28,878)

Level 18 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Dan O'Brien - 9th place
Dan O'Brien - 9th place

Dan O'Brien completed to 20,000 and Yuval Bronshtein called before Todd Dakake raised and O'Brien called all-in for his last 40,000. Bronshtein called also before folding on fourth as both player's board ran out as following:

O'Brien: {7-Clubs}{3-Spades} / {9-Spades}{3-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{K-Hearts}
Bronshtein: (X-X) / {10-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} (folded on fourth)
Dakake: {5-Diamonds}{2-} / {8-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}

With O'Brien drawing to a king-low, he found the {Q-} on the river, but it would be Dakake's {9-Hearts} on the river that would give him a nine-eight low to send O'Brien to the rail.

Daniel Negreanu Eliminated in 10th Place ($28,878)

Level 17 : 15,000/30,000, 3,000 ante
Daniel Negreanu - 10th place
Daniel Negreanu - 10th place

Brandon Shack-Harris had the bring-in and Daniel Negreanu completed with Shack-Harris calling. Shack-Harris bet fourth with Negreanu calling before he called all-in for his last 11,000 on sixth street.

Shack-Harris: {K-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} / {10-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{2-Spades}
Negreanu: {5-Spades}{4-Hearts} / {5-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}

With Shack-Harris having a made king-ten, he improved with the {6-Clubs} as Negreanu improved with the {8-Clubs}. On seventh, Shack-Harris found just the {4-Clubs}, and with Negreanu needing any nine, seven, six, three or ace, he could only pair up with the {4-Diamonds} to be eliminated in 10th place.

Dakake's Perfect Seven Hits Negreanu Hard

Level 16 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante
Todd Dakake
Todd Dakake

Todd Dakake completed and Daniel Negreanu called before betting out on fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh streets.

Dakake: (X-X) / {2-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{A-Clubs} / (X)
Negreanu: (X-X) / {7-Spades}{2-Clubs}{A-Spades}{10-Spades} / (X)

When faced with Negreanu's 24,000-chip bet, Dakake raised and Negreanu quickly called.

Dakake tabled his {7-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{3-Clubs} for a perfect-seven as Negreanu's {9-Spades}{5-Hearts}{4-Spades} for a seven-five wouldn't be enough as he slipped to 125,000 in chips.

David Bach Hoping to Finally Capture Razz Gold

David Bach
David Bach

Welcome to PokerNews' Day 3 coverage of Event #18: $10,000 Seven-Card Razz Championship,

A total of 112 players participated in the largest buy-in for a Razz tournament in poker history and after two days and 15 levels, only 12 remain. First place is set at $294,792 and leading the way into Day 3 is David Bach with 565,000.

After a fourth-place finish in the $1,500 buy-in Razz event last week and a runner-up showing in last year's $2,500 Razz affair, Bach is looking to finally capture that elusive Razz victory and his second World Series of Poker bracelet. Second in chips is Event 3 winner Brandon Shack-Harris with 369,000 and he is followed by none other than Daniel Negreanu with 340,000. Negreanu is looking for redemption after his runner-up showing in Event 13 just days ago. The remaining field is also flush with poker skill, making this anyone's game.
