Mizrachi Takes Lead After Two Omaha Pots

Level 25
Robert Mizrachi now has the chip lead.
Robert Mizrachi now has the chip lead.

Pot-Limit Omaha

Aaron Schaff selected PLO.

"You know, I won a bracelet in PLO," Robert Mizrachi said.

"Yeah," Schaff responded. "I wasn't playing that event."

"You were probably still in high school."

The banter was more exciting than the hands that round.

Limit Omaha Eight-or-Better

Schaff raised from the button in Mizrachi's game selection, and Mizrachi three-bet. Schaff called, and the flop came {j-Spades}{9-Spades}{5-Spades}. Mizrachi bet, and Schaff raised. Mizrachi made it three bets, and Schaff called. Mizrachi fired bullets on the {a-Clubs} turn and {8-Clubs} river, but Schaff mucked on the end, showing {a-}{5-}{5-} for a set.

Pot-Limit Omaha

Back on Schaff's game, he potted out of the big blind after Mizrachi limped the button, and Mizrachi called to see a {9-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{7-Spades} flop. Both players checked, and Schaff bet 45,000 on the {a-Hearts} turn. Mizrachi quickly called, and Schaff checked the {a-Diamonds} river. Mizrachi fired 120,000, and Schaff folded.

Mizrachi Hits One Million

Level 25

Omaha 8

The trend in game selection has been Aaron Schaff consistently choosing pot-limit Omaha while Robert Mizrachi switches it up with a different game each time. He recently selected Omaha 8.

Schaff had the button and raised. Mizrachi flatted and the flop came down {A-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{K-Clubs}. Mizrachi check-called a bet and the {9-Diamonds} fell on the turn. Both players checked to see the {10-Clubs} finish off the board. They both checked the final street.

"Ace-jack," said Mizrachi, tabling {A-Spades}{J-Clubs}{3-Spades}{3-Diamonds}. Schaff mucked his hand and Mizrachi picked up the pot.

Mizrachi Takes a PLO Pot

Level 25

Pot-Limit Omaha

Aaron Schaff raised the button to 25,000 in his game of choice, and Robert Mizrachi called. Mizrachi check-called 15,000 on the {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}{k-Hearts} flop, and both players checked the {10-Spades}. Mizrachi checked again on the {10-Clubs} river, and Schaff bet 55,000. Mizrachi quickly announced a call.

"Ace-jack?" Schaff said.

"Straight," Mizrachi responded, throwing {q-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} into the middle.

More For Mizrachi

Level 25

Pot-Limit Omaha

Aaron Schaff selected pot-limit Omaha.

He had the button and made it 25,000 to go. Robert Mizrachi called and the two saw {3-Clubs}{2-Spades}{9-Clubs} hit the felt. Mizrachi checked, Schaff continued for 40,000, and Mizrachi called.

Fourth street was the {4-Spades} and Mizrachi checked for a second time. Schaff checked it back and the {J-Hearts} finished off the board. Mizrachi announced a bet of pot, or 130,000 on the river. Schaff flicked his cards into the muck and Mizrachi pulled the pot.

Mizrachi now has 1.2 million in chips to Schaff's 685,000.

Schaff Scoops in Badacey

Level 26

Badacey

Aaron Schaff raised from the button in his opponent's game of choice, and Robert Mizrachi called and drew three. Schaff drew two, and he fired again and was called. Mizrachi took two cards this time as Schaff took one. Again, Mizrachi check-called, and both players stayed pat on the last draw. Two checks ensued, but Schaff had a scooper with {8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{3-Spades}{2-Spades}, good for a three-card six-badugi and an eight-six low. Mizrachi tossed {8-}{7-}{5-}{3-}{2-} in, but his three-card badugi wasn't as good as Schaff's.

Pot-Limit Omaha

Aaron Schaff selected pot-limit Omaha.

On the second hand of PLO, Schaff opened his button to 25,000. Robert Mizrachi called and the two saw {8-Spades}{4-Hearts}{6-Spades} hit the felt. Mizrachi checked and Schaff continued out for 32,000. Mizrachi called and the {10-Hearts} fell on the turn. There were two checks, allowing the {K-Clubs} to complete the board. Mizrachi bet 75,000 and Schaff quickly called.

Mizrachi showed {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}{7-Spades}{6-Hearts} for a turned set of tens. Schaff shook his head and flashed {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} for a flopped set of eights before mucking his hand. After this hit, Schaff was down to 655,000.

Omaha 8

Mizrachi selected Omaha 8 for the next round. He limped his button and Schaff checked his option. The flop fell {10-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} and Schaff led out. Mizrachi called, allowing the {6-Clubs} to turn. Schaff checked, Mizrachi fired, and Schaff tossed out a call. Both players checked the {2-Diamonds} river and Mizrachi fanned {J-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{5-Spades}{2-Clubs} for jacks and fives.

Schaff threw his hand away and Mizrachi raked in another pot. He now sits at 1.305 million to Schaff's 580,000.

"I just miss every hand," Schaff said. He sighed and folded.
