Matusow Pays Off Slaubaugh

Level 3 : 400/800, 100 ante
Mike Matusow paid off a river raise.
Mike Matusow paid off a river raise.

Big blind Mike Matusow fired 6,000 on the end with the board reading {3-Spades}{7-Hearts}{9-Spades}{2-Clubs}{3-Clubs}, and button Cody Slaubaugh raised it up to 23,500. Matusow thought for about minute before verbalizing a call. Slaubaugh showed {q-Spades}{3-Diamonds} for trips, and Matusow mucked his hand.

Arieh Ships the Turn

Level 3 : 400/800, 100 ante

A player under the gun check-called 5,500 from Josh Arieh after a flop of {j-Clubs}{2-Spades}{3-Hearts}. The {a-Spades} turned, and Arieh shoved all in when his opponent checked.

"Anything but that card," the player said with a laugh, mucking {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} face up.

Wolpert Outdrawn, Busted

Level 4 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Leo Wolpert bet 3,400 from the button after Douglas Foster checked to him out of the big blind on a {q-Spades}{7-Spades}{10-Hearts}. Foster check-raised 10,000, and Wolpert made the call. On the {8-Clubs} turn, Foster fired 21,000, leaving himself about 15,000 behind. Wolpert pushed all in and was quickly called. He confidently flipped {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}, and it was ahead of Foster's {10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}. The river wasn't kind to Wolpert though: {j-Diamonds}, giving Foster a straight.

"How much?" Wolpert said with a shake of his head.

He ended up shipping all but about 1,500 across the table, and we saw him collecting his payout ticket a short time later.
