Hands #13-18: Nguyen Drags a Couple

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Hand 13: Danny Nguyen accidentally called, and John Fontana called as well on the button. Chris Hunichen checked his big blind, and {q-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{k-Spades} flopped. Nguyen bet 56,000 after Hunichen checked, Fontana folded, and Hunichen shoved, getting a relatively quick fold.

Hand 14: Patti got a walk.

Hand 15: Patti raised to 50,000 in the small blind, and Jeff Smith repopped to 125,000. Patti called, but he then check-folded to another 125,000 on the {4-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{q-Spades} flop.

Hand 16: Fontana opened to 54,000 and took down the pot.

Hand 17: Patti raised to 40,000 and got called by only Nguyen. Nguyen check-called the {q-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} flop for 45,000. The turn brought an {a-Spades}, and Nguyen fired out 82,000. That was good enough to get Patti to fold.

Hand 18: Patti raised to 40,000 and once again, Nguyen called, as did Fontana in the big blind. Everyone checked to Nguyen on the {k-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{2-Clubs} flop, and he won the pot with a bet of 45,000.

Chris Hunichen Eliminated in 6th Place ($53,951)

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Chris Hunichen - 6th Place
Chris Hunichen - 6th Place

Hand 22: Chris Hunichen opened to 50,000, Danny Nguyen called from the big blind, and the two saw a {k-Clubs}{6-Spades}{4-Spades} flop. Danny slid out a bet and Chris snap-shoved all in. Nguyen quickly called putting Hunichen at risk.

Nguyen: {k-Spades}{7-Spades}
Hunichen: {a-Spades}{3-Spades}

Hunichen was behind but had outs to a flush and his ace was live. The turn {2-Diamonds} and river {6-Hearts} gave no aid, however, and Hunichen was knocked out in sixth place.

This is the second straight year with a sixth-place finish for Hunichen, as he took sixth in last year's WSOP Millionaire Maker event for $229,575.

Hands #23-29: Conservative Action

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Hand 23: Jeff Smith raised preflop and won the pot.

Hand 24: Frank Patti raised to 40,000 under the gun and got a call from Danny Nguyen on the button, as well as from John Fontana in the big blind. The flop of {q-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} got a check from Fontana, a bet of 50,000 from Patti, and everyone folded.

Hand 25: Danny Nguyen raised from the cutoff to 42,000 and Frank Patti three-bet to 83,000. After Nguyen called, we saw a flop of {4-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{q-Clubs} and Nguyen led out for 88,000, which won the pot.

Hand 26: John Fontana raised to 60,000 from the button and Frank Patti three-bet from the small blind and won the pot.

Hand 27: Chris Haugo raised to 42,000 under the gun and Jeff Smith three-bet to 120,000 from the small blind and won the pot.

Hand 28: Danny Nguyen raised to 42,000 from the small blind and won the blinds and antes.

Hand 29: Frank Patti rasied to 40,000 under the gun and received a call from Danny Nguyen. The flop came {9-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{a-Spades} and both players checked. The {q-Hearts} came on the turn and Patti bet 40,000. Nguyen called and the turn came {q-Diamonds}. Both players checked and Nguyen's {k-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} was good enough to win the pot.

Hands #30-33: Haugo Doubles with Unlikely Flush

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Hand 30: Danny Nguyen opened for a raise and Frank Patti defended his big blind. Patti check-called 47,000 on the {7-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}. Both players checked through the {4-Spades} and {a-Clubs}.

Patti showed {j-Clubs}{2-Clubs} for bottom pair, which was good.

Hand 31: Nguyen raised to 42,000 under the gun, and Chris Haugo called. The flop brought {a-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{k-Spades} and Nguyen bet 52,000. Haugo called, and a {7-Hearts} hit the board. Nguyen bet 87,000 and Haugo slid his cards to the dealer.

Hand 32: Haugo shoved under the gun; nobody called him.

Hand 33: Patti opened for 40,000 and Haugo pushed all in for 354,000 in the big blind after everyone else folded. Patti called immediately.

Patti: {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}
Haugo: {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}

The flop came {10-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{6-Diamonds}, no help to Haugo.

"Seven of diamonds for the sweat," Patti asked.

"Thanks for the support," Haugo replied.

The turn was a diamond - the {q-Diamonds} - bringing a possible backdoor flush. The {8-Diamonds} river completed that flush, giving Haugo an unlikely double.

Hands #34-37

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Hand 34: Danny Nguyen opens to 47,000, John Fontana calls from the big blind and the two see a {6-Hearts}{4-Spades}{5-Hearts} flop. Fontana checks, Nguyen bets 45,000 and Fontana calls to the turn {7-Hearts}. This time, Fontana open shoves for 163,000 and Nguyen mucks, showing {3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}. Fontana shows {8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} as he is shipped the pot.

Hand 35: Jeff Smith opens to 43,000, Chris Haugo raises to 112,000 and Smith folds.

Hand 36: Fontana opens from the cutoff, taking the blinds and antes after everyone folds.

Hand 37: Fontana opens from the hijack to 40,000, Nguyen calls from the big blind and the two see a {9-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{2-Spades} flop. Both players check to the turn {a-Spades}. Nguyen checks, Fontana bets and Nguyen folds.

Hands #38-39: Pots for Nguyen and Patti

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Hand 38: Frank Patti raised to 40,000 and found calls from Danny Nguyen and Chris Haugo. The flop came {10-Spades}{7-Hearts}{7-Spades} and all three players checked. The turn was the {2-Spades} and Nguyen bet 50,000. This got a fold from Haugo and a three-bet to 120,000 from Patti. Nguyen called and the river was {10-Clubs}. Nguyen check-called Patti's 145,000 bet with {7-Diamonds}{4-Spades} for a fullhouse.

Hand 39: Frank Patti raised to 40,000 again, this time from under the gun. He got calls from Jeff Smith, Chris Haugo, and John Fontana, and the flop came {2-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}. Haugo checked, Fontana bet 75,000, Patti called, and Smith folded. Two-handed now, the turn came {k-Diamonds} and both players checked. The river was the {10-Diamonds} and Patti took it down with a 160,000 bet.
