Shulman Livens Up the Room

Level 16 : 800/1,600, 0 ante

Big-O

Michael Ross opened to 4,000 from the cutoff and Alynn Shulman flat-called on the button. Renan Bruschi was in the small blind and three-bet to 17,600. With the action back on Ross, he moved all in 35,100.

"Ooohhh we got a big pot, guys!" Kristopher Monteith yelled.

"Shut up and let me think," Shulman responded. She tanked for a couple minutes, apologizing to the table repeatedly for the deliberation. Shulman eventually stuck in her last 30,400 chips and Bruschi called as all three hands were tabled.

Allyn Shulman: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{4-Spades}
Michael Ross: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}{8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}
Renan Bruschi: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{5-Spades}{3-Clubs}

"Diamonds! Diamonds! Give the lady some diamonds!" Shulman was screaming.

The flop came {j-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{5-Clubs} and it was both Ross and Bruschi who picked up a flush draw, Bruschi with the larger one. The turn brought the {j-Hearts} and Shulman was still in the lead with her aces.

"Aces! Aces!" Shulman continued to yell.

The river brought the {3-Spades} and, as the other two players were screaming out "ace-five" for their high hand, Shulman was still letting everyone know she had aces. "I have aces! And I have ace-four."

Everyone at the table just realized that Shulman also held the best low hand. "She scoops!" many of the players watching yelled. "I scoop! I scoop! Yeah, baby! It's hot in here," Shulman rejoiced with a couple of fist pumps.

It was the most exciting that has happened so far today in the Amazon gold section and the rest of the room feels a little rejuvenated with the excitement of Shulman.

Turner Eliminates McNeil

Level 17 : 1,000/2,000, 0 ante
Calen McNeil
Calen McNeil

Jon Turner and Calen McNeil got all their chips in the middle on the {9-Clubs}{5-Spades}{K-Clubs} flop.

Calen McNeil: {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{K-Spades}{3-Spades}{2-Spades}
Jon Turner: {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{J-Spades}{10-Spades}

The dealer put down the {Q-Diamonds} turn and the {8-Diamonds} river and that meant the end for McNeil his run in this tournament. Turner started stacking the chips he just won.

Gregorich Gets the Majority

Level 17 : 1,000/2,000, 0 ante

Omaha-8

Kyle Miaso opened from middle position and Mark Gregorich put in a three-bet on the button. The blinds folded and Miaso called to go heads up to a flop of {6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}. Miaso checked-called a bet from Gregorich and the {8-Hearts} landed on the turn.

Miaso checked again and Gregorich counted out a bet. Miaso check-raised and the two players got all of the chips in the middle with Gregorich being the one at risk. Miaso tabled {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{2-Hearts} and Gregorich showed {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}.

"You would have a hand like this," Miaso said. The river brought the {10-Spades} and Gregorich took down the high with a pair of aces while the two players chopped the low with ace-deuce.

Nickolai Doubles Through Carey

Level 17 : 1,000/2,000, 0 ante

PLO-8

Lars Nickolai was on Table 409 when they broke and he took place at Table 402 with Phil Hellmuth, Jon Turner, and chip leader Christopher Carey. Carey amassed his big stack by winning a huge 275,000 pot off Frank Visser and eliminating the Dutch mixed game player.

As Nickolai sat down at his new table, he had to immediately post the big blind and that left him with just 15,000 behind. It folded around to Carey who bet 7,000, and when the small blind folded Nickolai, he pushed all in for a total of 17,000 and Carey called.

Lars Nickolai: {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{8-Clubs}
Christopher Carey: {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{3-Clubs}

The board was dealt {Q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{10-Spades}{5-Hearts} and that meant a full double-up for Carey.

Alexander Takes a Hit

Level 17 : 1,000/2,000, 0 ante

Big-O

The action folded around to James Alexander who raised it up to 5,000 on the button. Eddie Blumenthal three-bet to 17,000 from the small blind and Alexander called. The flop came {9-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{2-Hearts} and Blumenthal made a pot-sized bet of 36,000. Alexander stuck in enough chips to raise and the two players got all of the chips in the middle.

Eddie Blumenthal: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}
James Alexander: {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs}

Alexander flopped two pair but Blumenthal had an overpair and a straight draw. Just as he cheered for a ten, the {10-Diamonds} landed on the turn and Blumenthal made a straight. The {4-Hearts} on the river changed nothing and Blumenthal scooped the entire pot to double up through Alexander for a total of 78,800.

Nickolai Versus Carey Part II

Level 17 : 1,000/2,000, 0 ante

Lars Nickolai immediately doubled after being reseated at the table of chip leader Christopher Carey. It seems that he won another pot, and in this battle, he chopped it up with Carey.

Carey raised to 6,000 and Nickolai called. A third player called as well. The flop was {9-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} and Carey continued with a pot-sized bet of 20,000. Nickolai potted himself to 80,000 and was left with just a couple 100 chips. The third player in the pot folded and Carey made sure every single chip of his opponent went in the pot.

Lars Nickolai: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{2-Hearts}
Christopher Carey: {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{K-Spades}{9-Spades}{5-Diamonds}

The runout was {4-Hearts} and {j-Hearts} and they chopped the pot, each expanding their stack by 10,000.
