Gathy and Guerrero Clash

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Michael Gathy and Jimmy Guerrero have gotten tangled in a pot just now. Guerrero opened to 10,000 in middle position and was three-bet by Gathy on the small blind, who made it 35,000.

The flop ran out {7-Spades}{2-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} and Gathy continued for 21,000, which Guerrero called. The turn fell a {j-Clubs} and Gathy barreled for 45,000 this time. Guerrero came along and the final card out was the {3-Diamonds}. After tanking for a while, Gathy checked and Guerrero did the same.

Jimmy Guerrero: {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}
Michael Gathy: {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}

Guerrero took the pot with his pair and Gathy is sitting with a little over 15 big blinds now.

Blair Hits Against Finstein

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Eric Blair opened the button to 10,000 and was three-bet to 38,000 by Michael Finstein, which he called.

It was a {9-Spades}{5-Hearts}{2-Hearts} flop and Finstein continued for 25,000. Blair reraised to 65,000 and after counting out his chips, Finstein went all in for more than 100,000 on top. Blair snapped and they tabled their cards.

Michael Finstein: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}
Eric Blair: {k-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

It was over pair versus a flush draw and it was bad news for Finstein when the turn was a {4-Hearts}. There was no way he could win the hand, making the {6-Spades} irrelevant. "Does he have me covered?" asked Finstein. The answer was yes and Finstein hit the rail.

Harroch Hits the River

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

[Removed:14] raised it up from under the gun and was called by Joseph Drory on the button and Sergio Aido in the big blind. The flop came {q-Spades}{10-Spades}{7-Spades} and Aido checked to Harroch who continued for 20,000. Drory called and Aido got out of the way.

The turn brought the {9-Diamonds} and Harroch checked this time. Drory tossed in a bet of 25,000 but Harroch stuck around to see the {2-Spades} on the river. Harroch checked again and Drory tapped the table as well. Harroch flipped over {a-Spades}{j-Clubs} for the nut flush and Drory sent his cards to the muck.

Karmatakii Gets a Fold from Spinella

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Arsenii Karmatakii opened to 11,000 from the hijack and Anthony Spinella three-bet to 33,000 from the cutoff. The action was back on Karmatakii who made the call to go heads-up to a flop of {j-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{5-Hearts}.

Karmatakii checked to Spinella who continued for 27,000. Karmatakii called and the {6-Diamonds} landed on the turn. Both players checked this time and the {4-Clubs} completed the board. Karmatakii pushed in a bet of 95,000 and Spinella wasted little time before sending his cards to the muck.

Mackey Picks Up on the Turn

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

James Mackey opened to 10,000 on the button and Tay Nguyen called from the big blind. The flop came out {3-Spades}{7-Clubs}{9-Clubs}. Nguyen check-called a 10,000 continuation and on they went to the turn.

It was a {k-Diamonds} and again Nguyen check-called Mackey's bet, which was 21,000 this time. The {7-Diamonds} came on the river and both players elected to check.

James Mackey: {k-Hearts}{5-Spades}
Tay Nguyen: {j-Clubs}{j-Hearts}

Though Nguyen had been ahead pre- and post-flop, it was Mackey who took the lead on the turn and he scooped the pot.
