Bronshtein Delivers a Nasty Bad Beat

Level 13 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Hold'em

On the flop of {10-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}, Yuval Bronshtein checked from under the gun and Mark Busnardo fired 6,500 on the button. Bronshtein slid in a tower of chips worth a raise but Busnardo didn't waste a second to hear what was the amount. He snap-shoved and while it wasn't clear if he had more than Bronshtein's raise, it didn't matter as Bronshtein was ready to go.

Bronshtein: {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts}
Busnardo: {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}

Busnardo was in a fantastic spot, having Bronshtein drawing to a miraculous runner-runner. However, the fortune tapped Bronshtein on his back as he saw the {K-Hearts} and {J-Diamonds} complete the board to finish with a Broadway. Busnardo jumped from his chair and walked a few yards away, speechless. Then he picked up his payout slip and left the Amazon Gold section.

Sung Can't Press the Call Button

Level 13 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

PLO

Andrew Peplinski was in the small blind, shoving 39,900 when we arrived at the table with the action on the {8-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} turn. Peplinski was up against Steve Sung who thought on the button, having already separated the calling chips from his remaining stack. Sung would need to put in more than half of his remaining belongings to race against Peplinski and eventually decided to lay his hand down.

Negreanu Gets a Strong Wind in His Sails

Level 13 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

Hold'em

We only picked up the action when Daniel Negreanu was doing the most popular thing among poker players: amassing newly earned chips. And the Kid Poker seized a ton of them as he won a big hand with {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts} on the board of {6-Clubs}{2-Spades}{9-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{9-Hearts}, scoring a full double through one of his opponents and eliminating another short-stacked player at the same. Negreanu solidified his stack, vaulting to 95,000 or so.

Quevedo Worried About King-High Flush

Level 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

PLO

Federico Quevedo raised from the hijack, earning two callers from the blinds. The {2-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{7-Clubs} flop was checked but Ryan Leng took the betting lead on the {10-Hearts} turn, firing 6,000 out of the big. Only Quevedo called and Leng dropped another shell on the {A-Diamonds} river. He made it 16,500 and Quevedo tanked for a while, then released his hand into the muck.

"I wasn't worried about the ace-high flush, I was more worried about the king-high flush," Quevedo discussed the hand with his neighbor.
