Aldaz Runs Into Aces

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

After an under-the-gun raise from Brian Belkin, Carlos Aldaz three-bet shoved for 90,000 on the button. Belkin snapped him off.

Brian Belkin: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}
Carlos Aldaz: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}

The {10-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{9-Spades} flop gave Aldaz a few more outs with a gutshot, but the {6-Spades} turn and {7-Clubs} river failed to improve his hand and he was out of the tournament.

Ostler Doubles With Aces

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Robert Ostler raised to 35,000 from middle position, leaving himself with only about 65,000 behind. Errol Krupiarz pushed all in from the cutoff as well for 700,000 and it folded back to Ostler who snap-called. Ostler immediately opened up {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} and Krupiarz was drawing to two direct outs with {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}.

The board ran out {4-Spades}{4-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{9-Clubs} and Ostler doubled up his stack with pocket aces.

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Bradley Helm in Day 1 Action
Bradley Helm in Day 1 Action

Bradley Helm raised to 25,000 from the cutoff, then quickly called a three-bet shove for 200,000 by Ian Feller in the big blind.

Bradley Helm: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}
Ian Feller: {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}

Helm picked up a gutshot to Broadway on the {2-Spades}{q-Hearts}{10-Spades} flop, and while he bricked the {9-Spades} turn, the {j-Clubs} river made his straight and sent Feller home.

Timmons Felted By Former WSOP Bracelet Winner Friedberg

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Thomas "TJ" Timmons
Thomas "TJ" Timmons

Thomas "TJ" Timmons jammed for 72,000 from the cutoff, and Jon Friedberg, who won a $1,000 No Limit Hold'em bracelet back in 2006, called in the big blind for around half of his remaining stack.

Thomas "TJ" Timmons: {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}
Jon Friedberg: {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts}

"Hold, baby!" Timmons said upon seeing his sixes were in the lead.

The lead wouldn't last, however, as Friedberg smashed the {7-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{10-Spades} flop, leaving Timmons looking for an eight to give him a straight. The {7-Diamonds} turn added a few more outs with some full house draws, but after the {3-Spades} river bricked off, he said, "Good luck, y'all!" to the table before departing.

Thompson Takes From Lamberta

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Jeffrey Thompson raised to 31,000 from middle position and Joseph Lamberta was the only player to call the bet from the cutoff. The players on the button and in the blinds got out of the way.

The dealer spread out the {a-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{3-Clubs} flop and Thompson continued with a bet of 50,000. Lamberta counted out 50,000 but he then grabbed more chips. He ended up pushing just the 50,000 forward.

The {k-Spades} turn was checked through and the same happened on the {5-Hearts} river. Thompson opened up {a-Hearts}{10-Spades} and that was enough to take down the pot.

Fieber Binks a River on Campbell

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Christopher Fieber raised to 30,000 from the cutoff, and Ron Campbell, who began the day with just seven big blinds, jammed for 203,000. Fieber, who had 127,000 total in his stack, didn't take long to toss his remaining chips in the middle.

Christopher Fieber: {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}
Ron Campbell: {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}

Fieber picked up a flush draw on the {9-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} flop. "Deuce!" Campbell said after the {4-Hearts} turn was a brick, but the {k-Diamonds} river gave Fieber a winning pair of kings, leaving Campbell short. He lost his remaining chips a few hands later when his {a-}{10-} was four-flushed by {k-}{q-}.

Christopher Bowen raised to 35,000 from the hijack, and was called by Brian Belkin in the small blind, as well as Shane Patreau in the big blind.

Patreau's shove was for 225,000, and Bowen took about a minute before tossing his hand into the muck.

Wienhoff Eliminated by Chung in Big Pot

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Bryan Wienhoff was eliminated from the tournament by Patrick Chung in a 600,000 pot.

The {k-Spades}{q-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{6-Clubs} flop and turn were already on the table and the pot had well over 200,000 in it when Wienhoff bet his last 195,000 from the under-the-gun position. Chung sat in the cutoff and he had a big decision to make. He ended up calling with {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} and Wienhoff opened up {a-Clubs}{10-Spades}.

Chung immediately called for a red card, but the river was a black one. It was the {2-Spades} and as Wienhoff didn't hit, he was sent to the rail.
