Mori and Robinson Hit the Rail, Collect $2,780 Apiece

Level 14 : 1,000/2,000, 3,000 ante

Frank Kassela has busted Tomoharu Mori in a blind on blind confrontation that ended up with Mori moving in and Kassela calling. The latter's ten-high was good. Shaun Deeb has just been moved to that table to join the chatty triumvirate of Kassela, Chait and Chabra.

Smith Pats Against Negreanu

Level 14 : 1,000/2,000, 3,000 ante

With 44,000 in the pot, Matthew Smith and Daniel Negreanu went to the draw. Smith, who had three-bet to 20,000 from the big blind, stood pat. Negreanu, sitting to Smith's left, decided to break his hand and peel one. Smith then slid in a pile of chips.

"Twenty again?" Negreanu asked, but he released his hand in the following seconds.

Harman Misses vs. Tabb

Level 14 : 1,000/2,000, 3,000 ante
Jen Harman
Jen Harman

Jennifer Harman opened to 5,000, raised by Steven Tabb in position. She took a good while to make the call, self-counting down her stack (it was around 45,000) and thinking. Call she did, though, taking one, while Tabb stood pat. Harman then checked and when Tabb checked behind she held her hand face down over the muck until Tabb showed [Jx9x8x7x5] at which point she let it go.

Chen Prevails Against Wheel Draw

Level 14 : 1,000/2,000, 3,000 ante

James Chen was in the big blind and he squeeze-shoved versus a raise and a call from Michael Sortino. The opener had already folded by the time the action was picked up, but Sortino asked for the dealer to put the initial raise into the pot. Chen had 30,500 more and Sortino called.

Chen patted {10-}{9-}{6-}{5-}{2-} and Sortino changed one, opening {5-}{4-}{3-}{2-}. While he drew a low card, it was a {6-} and Chen immediately declared that Sortino had made a straight. The double allowed Chen to climb over 80,000 while Sortino now plays roughly half of that.

Meanwhile, Daniel Negreanu busted on another table and the tournament is now down to the last four tables.

Hall Check-Shoves on Gathy

Level 14 : 1,000/2,000, 3,000 ante
Galen Hall
Galen Hall

Michael Gathy raised to 5,000 in the cutoff and Galen Hall three-bet to 17,000 from the big blind. Gathy fairly quickly called and the draw saw Hall pat and Gathy take one.

Hall checked and Gathy pushed forward a bet of 38,000. Hall took under 30 seconds before he raised all in for 78,400. Gathy needed about the same amount of time. He double checked his hand and then let it go.

Abrams Doubles Through Smith

Level 14 : 1,000/2,000, 3,000 ante

"I wager all of my chips," said Scott Abrams under the gun, making his intentions clear to the table. His stack of around 35,000 was duly pushed forward; big blind Matthew Smith made the call. Smith stood pat and Abrams took one, showing down the {7-Clubs}{6-Spades}{3-Hearts}{2-Hearts} up against Smith's {10-Hearts}{8-Spades}{7-Spades}{4-Clubs}{3-Clubs}.

"Ten or better," he said, flipping the {4-Hearts}, definitely in the "better" category.

Double for Harman

Level 14 : 1,000/2,000, 3,000 ante

Jerry Wong raised to 5,500 from early position and his neighbor Jen Harman peeled a hand good enough for a 21,000-shove. It returned to Wong who quickly called and drew one. Harman patted.

Wong: {8-}{6-}{4-}{3-}
Harman: {10-}{6-}{4-}{3-}{2-}

Wong looked at his new card and it wasn't any of those he'd like to see so he turned his hand face down and cut out the required chips to double Harman's stack.

Hwang Building Upwards

Level 14 : 1,000/2,000, 3,000 ante

Andy Hwang doesn't stack in twenties. His towers of yellow 1,000 chips are lined up like a wall in front of him, covering everyone else at his table. Just now Jeffrey Lennon raised to 5,400 and Hwang, in position, made it 19,000 to go. Lennon had around 70,000 behind at this point; he made the call. No one took cards. Lennon now checked to Hwang who bet 34,000. Lennon gave up the pot.
