Samad Razavi Eliminated in 25th Place ($14,149)

Level 32 : 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante
Samad Razavi
Samad Razavi

The action folded around to Erkut Yilmaz in the small blind who just limped in. Samad Razavi ripped all in for around 2,500,000 in the big blind and Yilmaz snapped him off.

Erkut Yilmaz: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}
Samad Razavi: {k-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

Yilmaz laid the perfect trap and Razavi was in danger of being eliminated. The board ran out {j-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} and Yilmaz claimed the pot with no sweat at all.

Li Wakes Up with Aces for a Double KO

Level 26 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Fred Li
Fred Li

Jiri Kocab pushed all in from the hijack for around 200,000 and Tihomir Ivanov re-shoved all in for 585,000 from the cutoff. Fred Li asked for a count on the button and the also moved all in, having both players covered.

Fred Li: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}
Tihomir Ivanov: {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Jiri Kocab: {6-Spades}{5-Clubs}

Li was in a great position to score a double knockout and the flop of {j-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} changed none of that. The {q-Spades} on the turn and the {3-Hearts} on the river were safe for Li as he accumulated a stack of over 2 million chips.

Jennifer Tilly Eliminated

Level 23 : 12,000/24,000, 24,000 ante
Jennifer Tilly
Jennifer Tilly

Trey Brabham raised to 55,000 from under-the-gun, and was called by Marc Rijnbeek in middle position and Jennifer Tilly in her big blind. After Tilly checked the {5-Spades}{7-Hearts}{5-Clubs} flop, Brabham continued for 105,000 and Rijnbeek folded. Tilly then responded with a check-shove all in and was snap-called by Brabham.

Tilly tabled {7-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} for two pair, but was behind the better two pair of Brabham, who was holding {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}. The {6-Spades} turn and {4-Diamonds} river were of no help to Tilly, sending the bracelet- and Oscar-winning actress to the payout line.

Laplante Stays Alive in Dramatic Fashion

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Ryan Laplante
Ryan Laplante

Ryan Laplante was all in from early position for 55,000 having not looked at his cards yet. Rudy Ayala re-shoved all in from the cutoff and the cards were tabled.

Ryan Laplante: {q-Spades}{2-Hearts}
Rudy Ayala: {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}

The flop came {7-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{4-Spades} and Laplante was left cheering for runner-runner outs. The turn brought the {a-Hearts} to give him a straight draw and the {3-Spades} on the river made his straight to keep him alive.

Welcome Back to Day 2 of Event #22: $1,000 Double Stack No-Limit Hold'em

Day 2 of the Monster Stack
Day 2 of the Monster Stack

It was an action-packed opening day of Event #22: $1,000 Double Stack No-Limit Hold'em that saw a field of 3,253 players take to the felt in search of another World Series of Poker gold bracelet. There will be just 430 players returning for Day 2 with many familiar names still in the hunt.

One name among the leaders stands out more than the rest as Timur Margolin already has two WSOP titles to his name. Margolin bagged up a stack of 1,333,000, good enough for second on the leaderboard. His previous bracelets came in 2018, one here in Las Vegas and the other in Rozvadov, Czech Republic at WSOP Europe. Another deep run in this event could easily vault Margolin over the $2 million mark in career earnings.

Things won't be that simple, however, as with 430 players still remaining, it is still anyone's game. Some other big names to keep an eye on include Blair Hinkle (526,000), Andrew Lichtenberger (422,000), Bernard Lee (360,000), Manig Loeser (335,000), and Maria Ho (298,000). The remaining players are already in the money and have locked up $1,501. With the average stack currently being under 20 big blinds, the bustouts should come at a rapid pace to kick things off.

The action is slated to begin at 12 p.m. local time with the blinds resuming on level 21 at 8,000/16,000 with a 16,000 big blind ante. The levels will be increased to 40 minutes in length for today with a 15-minute break after every three levels. There will also be a 60-minute dinner break after the ninth level around 6:30 p.m. The schedule indicates that there will be a winner crowned today, but with 430 players still remaining, a third day seems very likely.

Either way, keep it locked here for all of the live updates from your PokerNews live reporting team throughout the day as another WSOP gold bracelet looks to be awarded.
